Mage
Although there are many compositions dealing strong magic damage in the meta, the Mage system seems to be quite weak. The heavy reliance on Twisted Fate (a champion fiercely contested) makes this composition extremely vulnerable at the moment. Therefore, in the upcoming patch 13.8, Mages will receive a significant power boost to make a comeback in Teamfight Tactics.

Specifically, Lux will receive a considerable damage buff in the early game, allowing the Mage system to sustain health effectively. Additionally, the attack stat increase from having 4 or more Mages will be significantly boosted. This enables this composition to deal much better damage compared to before, rather than solely depending on Twisted Fate.
Beast Squad
Despite having a strong carry like Miss Fortune, the Beast Squad is facing major gameplay issues. The tribe’s effect requires champions to take down opponents to gain stacks. However, the early game carries of this tribe are not strong enough. As a result, players will earn very few stacks before obtaining Miss Fortune.

Recognizing this issue, Riot Games has significantly buffed Nasus and Jinx in the upcoming patch 13.8. These two champions will serve as primary carries in the early game and help the Beast Squad accumulate stacks extremely quickly. Therefore, even if Riot reduces Miss Fortune’s power, the Beast Squad will still be a very strong composition in the next patch.
Bel’Veth – The Threat
Once a very strong champion, Bel’Veth is currently not favored by players. The rise of compositions with powerful ranged carries like Lucian and Draven (3 stars) makes Bel’Veth very easy to eliminate. However, in the upcoming patch 13.8, Bel’Veth will become somewhat “easier” as the aforementioned compositions will be nerfed.

Furthermore, the Void Queen herself will receive a significant power boost in the next patch. Specifically, the stacking attack speed stat of Bel’Veth each time she uses her ability will increase to 30%. This allows Bel’Veth to eliminate enemy champions much faster than before.
Conclusion
With Riot Games boosting the strength (both indirectly and directly) of the Mage, Beast Squad, and Bel’Veth the Threat compositions, they have become much stronger in the upcoming patch. This promises to be extremely effective strategies for climbing ranks after Lucian, Draven, and LeBlanc receive significant nerfs.
