Recently, Suning Gaming’s Weibo account published a post commemorating the 4th anniversary of SofM – the team’s Jungle player, officially debuting in the LPL tournament:

“05/18/2016, SofM traveled alone from Vietnam to China.

With a powerful Jungle playstyle, this name has made a significant mark in all our hearts.

05/18/2020, the story of SofM will continue…”

On May 18, 2016, just days after leaving Vietnam to fly to China, SofM was officially announced as a player for the team competing in the LPL – Snake Esports. After 4 years filled with ups and downs, the prodigy of the Vietnamese gaming scene has now become a shining star in the “crowded galaxy” of the LPL.

Let’s take a look at some memorable milestones in this star’s career on Chinese soil:

– On 05/18/2016 – SofM officially joined Snake Esports as a Jungle player. By the end of the 2016 LPL Summer Split, he received the award for Most Impressive Rookie.

– On 08/28/2016 – Snake Esports went through a legendary “Bo10” series during the 2016 World Championship Regional Qualifiers. After winning 3-2 against Vici Gaming, SofM and his teammates immediately faced Team WE. The 10 consecutive games took a toll on Snake Esports, resulting in a narrow defeat with a score of 2-3.

This was also one of the rare occasions when Snake Esports, and SofM in particular, had a chance to get close to a Worlds spot.

– On 05/21/2019, Snake Esports transferred ownership and changed its name to LNG Esports.

– On 08/23/2019, LNG Esports caused an upset by defeating the then defending LPL champions – Invictus Gaming with a score of 3-0 in the first match of the playoffs. This match was considered the peak of LNG’s roster that year with key players like Flandre and SofM. This was also SofM’s final victory while wearing the LNG jersey.

– On 12/17/2019, SofM officially joined Suning Gaming.

After 4 years of competing in the LPL, the “Jungle God” from Vietnam has gradually asserted his talent in the most challenging professional League of Legends tournament. Although he has yet to win any titles, SofM has been praised by the Chinese media as the “trailblazer” for the current playstyle of the LPL.

SofM – As one of the few foreign players not from Korea who has built a remarkable reputation in the LPL, has also become a hot name on Chinese social media platforms.

Although he couldn’t achieve a favorable result with Suning Gaming in the LPL Spring 2020, as SN has confirmed, SofM’s journey will not stop here.
