As we know, the Vietnamese AoE community has been buzzing for the past two days with the phenomenon known as “Hanh Ha Giang”. He has continuously defeated Chipboy and taken down U98 in the pure R Shang archer category.
Starting the conversation, the handsome guy from Ha Giang shared a bit about himself: “I am Nguyen Hanh, born on July 29, 1994, originally from Tuyen Quang, and currently living in Dong Van District, Ha Giang City. I own a small tattoo shop in Group 7 Dong Van. Besides being a professional tattoo artist, I also enjoy and am passionate about playing AoE.”

As you may know, for an AoE player to reach a high level, it requires years of practice and battlefield experience. Therefore, Hanh Ha Giang, an amateur player, defeating top-tier players like Chipboy or U98 is no simple feat. Regarding this, Hanh shared: “I have been playing for about 10 years now. Since I started playing AoE until now, I have only played pure R Shang archers. I joined the amateur AoE group due to my brother’s recommendation when this group was just formed. Back then, I just played casually, meeting up with friends on weekends for fun, and I never thought I could compete with top-tier players. It truly is a joy. Initially, I soloed against players like De and Dinh Xuan Canh, then Yugi, and now Chipboy and U98. It is indeed a great honor for any amateur player.” (laughs).

Sharing his feelings after the two recent victories and when asked if he plans to pursue a career as a professional AoE player, Hanh sincerely replied: “I don’t think about that, for me, playing AoE is just a way to relax after tiring work. I don’t think about becoming a professional player. I know many fans in Ao Lang or AoE viewers are very supportive, but even with their support, I would not pursue it. Because simply, I want to be in control of my life and not be constrained by anything. I want a normal life and the most important thing is that my greatest passion is tattooing. Moreover, pursuing a professional AoE career would require a lot of time and effort. I just want to focus on what I like, not do what I don’t like. AoE is just for fun; if I enjoy it, I will play, and if not, I will stop.”

Following his success in defeating Chipboy and U98, when asked about his next opponent that “Hanh Ha Giang” wants to face, this handsome young man shared: “Before the match between me and U98, I said that after this match I would take a break to focus on my tattooing work. But if I have free time and there is another match, the person I want to compete against is Hoang Mai Nhi. Because simply, I have admired Hoang Mai Nhi for a long time. There is nothing more wonderful than having the dream of meeting and competing with my idol become a reality.”

As we wrapped up the interview, “Hanh Ha Giang” expressed his gratitude to the AoE fans who have supported him in recent matches, and also thanked the AoE Ao Lang community for allowing him to live out his passion for the past 10 years. Our reporting team also sincerely thanks Mr. Dinh Duc Doan, an active fan who connects AoE fans in the Vietnamese Empire community, for helping us conduct this interview.
