Invictus Gaming continues its poor performance streak with a 0-2 loss to Team WE in their opening match of the LPL Spring 2020. All eyes are once again on TheShy – the Top laner whose performance has seemingly hit rock bottom since late April.
According to statistics released by new.qq, since the match between IG and TOP Esports in LPL Spring 2020, including 3 matches in the Mid-Season Cup 2020, TheShy has gone through 9 consecutive games with extremely poor KDA stats.

Most recently, in the Bo3 matchup against Team WE, this star only managed to secure 1 kill, 4 assists, and died 11 times. Notably, TheShy’s champion selection trend is being criticized as highly problematic.
During this period, he often chose long-range champions, primarily marksmen, for the Top lane position. The only Fighter champion TheShy relied on was Aatrox; however, even when wielding the beast that made his name, TheShy was no different from a Super Minion in recent matches.
In fact, after the loss to WE, TheShy continued to experiment with some unusual champions in the Korean rank, including Aphelios, Neeko, and Lee Sin in the Top lane, and the results of these experiments do not seem promising at all.

This has caused the Chinese League of Legends fan community to be relatively “hot-eyed”, as they continue to criticize TheShy for his somewhat selfish practice and competition attitude. Many believe that TheShy is clearly exhibiting arrogance and only prefers to do things his way, disregarding tactical factors and his teammates.
The disaster for IG may not stop anytime soon, as even their captain Rookie is showing signs of declining performance after the recent match against WE. At 16:00 this afternoon, June 14, Invictus Gaming will face off against SofM’s Suning Gaming – a team currently in strong form.

Furthermore, Chinese media also confirms that if TheShy continues this poor form, it is entirely possible for Suning to crush IG, as this team currently possesses a relatively strong “early season aura”; they defeated WE and made the Spring champion JDG sweat in previous matches, and there’s no reason for SofM and his teammates to hesitate against a completely crumbling IG.
