During the recent transfer window, the most surprising move in the LPL was TheShy’s joining Weibo Gaming. This was unexpected because very few people thought that close-knit friends like TheShy and Rookie would not play together in the 2022 season. Moreover, Bin’s departure from WBG (previously Suning) was also quite shocking to many.

And yesterday – January 7th, Weibo Gaming announced that TheShy had completed all mandatory quarantine procedures. They also released a video of the player at the Weibo Gaming gaming house, so fans can rest assured that TheShy is 100% ready for training and competition in the upcoming 2022 LPL Spring Split.

As soon as he reunited with his new teammates at WBG, TheShy showed that he has prepared a new champion for the upcoming tournament. Specifically, the community discovered that TheShy has been consistently using Akshan Top Lane recently and achieving remarkable results. In fact, there was a match where he secured up to 22 kills at the Challenger rank on the Korean server while using Akshan Top Lane.

In fact, TheShy’s use of marksmen in the Top Lane is not something new for fans. We still remember that this player was the pioneer in bringing Kalista to the Top Lane, utilizing the Bloodthirster item that stirred up tournaments back in 2019.

Moreover, Akshan is proving to be an extremely strong champion in the Top Lane and is being used by many professional players. According to statistics from Probuildstats, Akshan ranks third in pick rate (among professional players) in the Top Lane. In fact, Akshan Top Lane boasts a win rate of up to 55.4%, significantly higher than the two “colleagues” above him, Gangplank and Jayce.

With long-range attacks, high damage from the early game, and the ability to create strong bursts with the resurrection effect for allies, Akshan proves to be a quite versatile champion in the Top Lane. Especially when used by TheShy, this character becomes even more dangerous as this player has ample experience handling marksman champions. It is very likely that Akshan Top Lane will be Weibo Gaming’s “secret weapon” in their quest for a high placement in the upcoming 2022 LPL Spring Split.
