In a region with a young Esports scene like Vietnam, which hasn’t received much proper investment, Vietnamese representatives participating in international tournaments are often not highly regarded. In some games, teams from Vietnam can only hope to create surprises or at least maintain the achievements established by their predecessors. However, it’s different for PUBG, as Vietnamese representatives are almost always highly rated in international tournaments. Notably, CERBERUS Esports stands out as the team considered the “undefeated champion” of PUBG Vietnam.

With names that have made waves in the PUBG community both in Vietnam and internationally, winning a tournament outside Vietnam’s framework has still been a distant dream for players from the land of the S-shaped country. However, in the finals on May 26 (Vietnam time), CES players performed exceptionally well. They became the champions of PGS 3, and player Himass also took home the MVP title – the best player in the world of PUBG at present. The total prize value that CES brought home is 100K USD (approximately 2.6 billion VND).

It goes without saying how the Vietnamese PUBG community exploded when the young men brought the red flag with yellow star “broadcasting” in the chat channel as well as the PGS 3 arena, which was regarded as extremely challenging for PUBG Vietnam. Before the finals began, CES was trailing the top-ranked team, Twisted Minds, by 34 points. At that time, no one dared to be too optimistic about the “Hound God”‘s ability to overcome difficulties. But then, a miracle happened, and CES proved how deserving they were of the championship.

From June 3 to June 9, CES will participate in PGS 4 in Shanghai. The road ahead promises to be just as challenging, but at this moment, the PUBG audience in Vietnam and the Esports community in the S-shaped country have every reason to be proud of the first international championship of PUBG Vietnam.
