For long-time followers of Worlds, BrTT is certainly not a stranger to the League of Legends fan community in Vietnam. The marksman from Brazil once made headlines as one of the top superstars from the former Wild-card region.
At MSI 2021, BrTT continued to be part of paiN Gaming’s roster heading to Iceland, as the CBLOL champion. What’s noteworthy is that he arrived at MSI having already turned 30 (BrTT was born on February 19, 1991), making him the first player over 30 to compete in this tournament.
At the same time as BrTT, players like Easyhoon, Marin, Madlife, xPeke… have all retired early, but the Brazilian player is different; he continues to tirelessly pursue a professional career and has even maintained peak performance, consistently dominating the CBLOL tournament.
Interestingly, throughout his 9 years of professional play, BrTT has transferred to… paiN Gaming (PNG) three times. The reigning champion from Brazil can be said to be where BrTT made his name, but his relationship with this team has not been smooth. Leaving and returning repeatedly, BrTT reunited with PNG for the third time at the start of the 2020 season after three years playing for different teams.
Coming from the Wild-card region, BrTT’s international achievements are not very prominent, except for a few personal highlights at the All-Star events. However, he became globally famous during his appearance at Worlds 2015, not for his performance on the battlefield but for proposing to his girlfriend live on air with millions of viewers watching.
After paiN Gaming’s surprising victory over Counter Logic Gaming in the group stage, BrTT was chosen for the post-match interview, and he seized this opportunity to propose to his girlfriend – streamer Caju. She happily accepted his proposal amid the cheers of the audience.
Six years after this “romantic moment”, Caju and BrTT seem to still be happily together. They don’t mention each other much in the media, but occasionally share loving photos.
Additionally, BrTT has carved out a unique niche in his career, particularly with his favorite champion, Draven – a name that was heavily out of meta during the 2015 season.
A successful career, a happy love life (and still handsome), and especially still burning with passion even after turning 30, BrTT is perhaps an ideal role model for aspiring esports players envisioning their futures.
