Perhaps until this morning, many in the League of Legends community, both in Vietnam and internationally, were unaware of the name DSN or Diana Nguyen. Even for fans of Pentanet.GG, she was known only as a League of Legends player and notably as the girlfriend of player Mark “Praedyth” Lewis – the ADC for the team from the LCO region (Oceania).
However, Diana “DSN” Nguyen has made everyone talk about her as she officially becomes a member of the Pentanet.GG lineup for MSI 2021 held in Iceland. DSN will compete as a substitute Support for player Daniel “Decoy” Ealam.
This event has drawn the attention of the entire League of Legends community worldwide towards Pentanet.GG. DSN will officially become the first female name to participate in an MSI throughout the tournament’s history. Although it’s possible that DSN may not get a chance to play since Decoy continues to prove his stable performance, DSN has indeed contributed to the change in the global League of Legends scene.
Right on the team’s Twitter page, DSN shared: “The competitiveness and matches of League of Legends inspired me to start playing since Season 3. And when I got an opportunity to be a part of professional matches, of the team, and to play with friends, I couldn’t refuse.”
DSN started playing Ranked Solo in the Oceania server cluster from Season 4 until now. Her achievements have gradually improved over time with three Season 4s in 2015 and 2016 achieving Silver rank, Season 2017 rising to Platinum rank, and the last three seasons (2018-2020) climbing to Diamond rank.
She specializes in playing Support champions (most notably Nami, Lulu, and Lux) with a win rate of up to 75%. In the current 2021 Ranked Season, DSN is at Diamond I rank with a win rate of 49% (243-255).
At MSI 2021, Pentanet.GG will be grouped with the reigning LPL Spring 2021 champion – Royal Never Give Up and Unicorns of Love – the team from the LCL (countries that separated from the former Soviet Union).
Pentanet.GG will kick off MSI with two consecutive matches on May 6 against RNG and UOL at 10 PM and 11 PM respectively.
