Through the way everyone gathers together, she always feels lonely and carries a sense of fear about it; this fear is vividly expressed through Fiddlesticks – a specter that always embodies the fears of each character. Akali falls into a state of uncertainty, her inner turmoil is torn and feels empty, growing ever larger through Fiddlesticks’ smile, and she even sees the darkness lurking behind her.
The image of Akali fighting against her own shadow symbolizes her constant struggle to gain control over herself. Sometimes she wins, other times she succumbs and sinks into loneliness. When in her most desperate state, Akali’s image splits into two, symbolizing the two parts of her personality. One part, the darkness, wants to lean towards Morgana, the Star Guardian, while the other part, the light, wants to reach out to Lux, the Star Guardian – who symbolizes her friends. Only when both parts merge into one does Akali awaken, realizing it was just a nightmare; however, her issues remain unresolved.
