A player named after CFO’s defeat at Worlds 2025
Before the match between CFO and HLE began, many fans still placed their trust in the LCP representative, following their outstanding performances against T1 and AL. However, the actual result was quite harsh as CFO couldn’t even secure a single game win in the BO3 match. Besides HLE being too “overwhelming,” the performances of the CFO players also need to be addressed, and the most disappointing name was the most anticipated player: HongQ.

After MSI, EWC, and then the second phase of LCP 2025, HongQ rose to become one of the most promising young midlaners in professional League of Legends. However, at the Worlds 2025 stage, it seems HongQ is truly “struggling.” In CFO’s matches, the team largely won thanks to the brilliance of JunJia, Driver, or Doggo. Notably, in the match against T1, Doggo’s Draven was the key factor that helped CFO overcome the reigning World Champion.
Moving to the recent match against HLE, when Doggo couldn’t carry, HongQ’s weaknesses became glaringly obvious. In both games, his performance was significantly lower than that of Zeka. In game 1, HongQ had some decent Twists that helped CFO regain control, but in game 2, HongQ’s Ryze was completely harmless. Gone were the impactful R headshots from the match against T1, and even one of HongQ’s Teleports resulted in Rest being taken down.

CFO Can Still Advance at Worlds, But HongQ Must Find Himself
With the fall to the 2-2 group, CFO will avoid T1 if they can overcome 100T. Among the remaining teams, considering performances since the start of Worlds, there seems to be no team that will truly intimidate CFO. Therefore, the chances of “the big brother of LCP” advancing remain very bright.

However, HongQ must improve his performance as soon as possible. As a young player, he may be feeling the pressure of stepping onto a big stage for the first time. But with the expectations of fans, HongQ’s contributions so far remain too pale compared to teammates like Doggo or JunJia.
