CS:GO Players Erupt with Valve’s New Update
For many gamers, trading in-game items and reaping substantial profits is no longer a strange affair. Notably, games like CS:GO and now CS2 feature equipment such as knives and guns that can reach high values if players possess “rare items.” There have been transactions involving Valve’s game items where the amounts spent could reach nearly hundreds of millions. However, a recent update has left CS2 players feeling both thrilled and disheartened.
Specifically, in the latest update, Valve allowed players to trade up red skins for knives and gloves. This means that a large number of players who were struggling to acquire rare knife or glove skins in CS:GO now have the opportunity to obtain these items. Meanwhile, those who already owned knife skins are left “screaming.”
Immediately, a series of knife items saw significant price drops. For example, the M9 Bayonet – Marble Fade FN, which previously fluctuated around $1,500 (approximately 40 million VND), now has a market price of only about $815 (approximately 20 million VND). The “dream warrior” Butterfly Vanilla is now priced at around 30 million VND, down from its previous price of approximately 70 – 80 million VND.
CS:GO Community Divided with Mixed Emotions
On many forums, CS:GO players likely share the same feelings as those who are currently “riding high” with gold or cryptocurrencies. Within less than 24 hours, the items they owned either plummeted in value or surprisingly became treasures. Some are thrilled that a previously cheap skin has unexpectedly soared to a value of millions. But there are also those who are “screaming” as rare knife skins drop tens of millions just after a night’s sleep.
Currently, Valve has not made any further statements regarding this update while the prices of rare skins and gloves in the game continue to plummet.
