The most impressive League of Legends teams of 2025 are in trouble
In the 2025 season, many teams showcased strong performances, accompanied by various titles. For example, HLE at the LCK Cup and First Stand, Gen.G at MSI, and T1 at the World Championship. However, if we had to identify teams that were not highly regarded at the start of the new season but left a deep impression, CFO and AL would certainly be the first names that come to the audience’s mind.

However, after an impressive season, both teams are facing difficulties. First is CFO, as nearly their entire roster has ‘disappeared’, with only Doggo having a contract until 2026. Even the top duo, which wasn’t highly rated, has seen Rest likely leave the team while Driver is still in negotiations. Notably, the extremely strong mid-jungle duo that CFO possesses, HongQ and JunJia, have both joined JDG in the LPL.
Thus, almost all the factors that contributed to CFO’s success in 2025 are no longer with the team. Setting aside the issue of finding worthy replacements, they now only need players capable of filling the gaps left by CFO’s superstars, especially in the positions of HongQ and JunJia, which is extremely difficult. For those who may not know, CFO is the only team to participate in all international League of Legends tournaments in 2025.

As for AL, they are not as ‘devastated’ as CFO, as it is highly likely that the players will stay. However, AL has lost its entire coaching staff. The loss of Tabe, regarded as a top talent in professional League of Legends, is predicted to make it difficult for AL to replicate their impressive performances from the past.
AL was also a very impressive team last season. They are the only team to have defeated Gen.G, HLE, and T1 – the three most powerful names in the current League of Legends world.

League of Legends fans are disappointed for AL and CFO
For AL, they may only need coaches of a decent level to still perform well. But CFO is a different case. The ‘Big Brother of LCP’ has just risen in this season, only to have its entire roster ‘gutted’. Therefore, it would not be surprising if the performance of ‘Hàu Bay’ declines in the upcoming new season.
