Currently, TFT is transitioning from Season 6 to Season 6.5. This is considered one of the most exciting TFT seasons to date. Not only are the traits being revamped, but a mechanism called the “Hextech Augment” has been introduced to help players avoid the “everyone spamming the same comp” situation, allowing for more creative and unique team compositions compared to previous seasons.

In a recent clip released by Riot, the game publisher also spoiled some information about TFT Season 7. Accordingly, the theme for TFT Season 7 will be related to the kingdom of dragons, where dragon tribes battle each other. Each tribe worships ancient Dragon Gods, whose powers lie dormant in ancient tombs.
Since this season marks the 3rd anniversary of the TFT mode, Riot also mentioned that they will bring back elements from previous seasons into Season 7. Notably, the community-favorite mechanic, Hextech Augment, will continue to appear in Season 7.
Additionally, in the clip from Riot, the first champion of TFT Season 7 has been revealed to be Illaoi – a 1-cost champion from the Brawler class in Season 6. Moving into Season 7, the “toughest” champion in League of Legends will undergo a transformation, and according to what was revealed in the Riot clip, Illaoi will have an incredibly powerful skill set: when this champion slams down onto the board, she will summon tentacles that spread across all four corners of the battlefield, striking down opponents. This skill set, if built correctly, can potentially one-shot the entire enemy team in an instant.

It can be said that if TFT Season 6 was exciting, based on what Riot has revealed, Season 7 will be even more thrilling. However, for now, players will have to wait for Season 6.5, as further information about Season 7 won’t be available until mid-year.
