Ranking up is perhaps something every Teamfight Tactics player does, alongside balancing various team compositions, preventing cheating in the game is also something that Riot Games must address. Learning from past games, Riot has done a great job preventing hacking software from affecting Teamfight Tactics and ensuring players can play fairly.

However, hacking isn’t the only issue that Teamfight Tactics faces; players have recently discovered a new “trick” from those looking to cheat while ranking up, known as elo boosting. Specifically, those wanting to climb ranks quickly create new accounts, trying to push them to a rank close to their main account. At that point, this player will team up with these clone accounts, disrupting other players to allow their main account to rank up rapidly.

I have discovered the buff elo phenomenon at the Challenger rank
This person uses 2 secondary accounts each game to occupy 2 spots below the top 4 and sabotages the formations of other players. He rarely plays with Challenger players, and none of the accounts below have better performance than the main account (named GYW), usually placing below him when not making it to the top 4. How on earth can they gain so many ranking points playing with all Diamonds and Platinums while in the Challenger rank?
Some other accounts also use this method to climb to Diamond before finding matches with the main account. If this phenomenon isn’t just a coincidence and has happened on other servers, it needs to be addressed.

LOL, I just encountered this guy 5 minutes ago and crushed him, one of those players tried to steal the Riot champions and didn’t expect they were doing it on purpose. Those accounts all placed 5th or lower.
This is disgusting.
It’s really sad to see those who try hard to rank up while some dirty players rise to the Grandmaster level.
Honestly, this kind of thing will happen when Riot allows large teams in a free-for-all game like this.

He doesn’t even have 70% in the top 4, he’s really bad.
So he plays with 3 accounts and tries to sabotage other players at the same time? If he focused on playing, he could rank up faster.
This method is honestly quite silly. What does it mean to win like that? And what will he do with those high-ranked accounts? Show off to his friends that he dirty boosted to rank up?
According to some other Reddit users, there is a whole group that boosts ranks for those accounts to sell for profit. I’m not sure if that’s true, but it could be the reason.

The ranking system of any game aims to accurately assess player skill levels. However, over time this has ceased to hold true, and the issues of boosting, rank boosting, elo boosting… have become increasingly common to meet the demands of players “wanting rank without effort.” This was once a problem for MOBA games, and now this extremely negative phenomenon has reached Teamfight Tactics.

Hopefully, Riot Games will read this post and come up with appropriate solutions to nip these unclean services in the bud.
