In the world of LoL, Faker is undoubtedly regarded as the number one mid laner. Not only because of his performances in matches, but also due to his influence and accomplishments over the years. It can be said that many debates and discussions have erupted, especially whenever Faker faces defeat. Ultimately, people are only searching for names that deserve to be ranked right after Faker in the list of the best mid laners in the world.

Recently, another controversy erupted as the Spring Split approaches its conclusion. Specifically, there was a poll for the position of “World’s Second Best Mid Laner” featuring several prominent names in the LoL community. The results were quite surprising as the “King of Wave Clearing” Chovy and ShowMaker both “fell short”. The Korean player with the highest votes was Scout with 32%, but he is currently competing in the LPL. The player who received more votes than Scout was Xiaohu with 41%.

This information has ignited a fierce debate within the LoL audience. Many opinions suggest that the voting results are reasonable as Xiaohu has proven his talent and maintained a stable performance over the years. Although he has yet to win a World Championship title, Xiaohu’s contributions to Royal Never Give Up, Weibo Gaming, and the LPL as well as the LoL scene in general are undeniable.

Both Chovy and ShowMaker have proven themselves over the years. However, currently, ShowMaker has not been able to regain the peak form that once led him to victory at the 2020 World Championship. Meanwhile, Chovy still appears to be “timid” whenever entering crucial matches. This is also the reason why the “King of Wave Clearing” has only managed to secure one LCK Summer Championship after many years of competition.

These votes may not be entirely accurate as they still carry a lot of subjective factors. However, it cannot be denied that after Faker, people are truly struggling to find a player with sufficient talent and high performance, not to mention professionalism or other peripheral factors.
