Last weekend, T1 achieved a crucial victory against Gen.G in the winners’ final of the LCK Spring 2023 qualifiers. This win secured T1 a spot in the grand finals as well as a ticket to MSI 2023. With their high performance recently, T1 is still regarded by many as the strongest contender for the LCK Spring championship this year.

However, T1 players remain extremely cautious for the upcoming grand finals. In fact, during the post-match interview, T1’s Oner pointed out that Gen.G is quite a formidable opponent. Besides tactical factors, Oner also shared that he still cannot forget the defeat in LCK Summer 2022.
“I think Gen.G will be T1’s opponent in the upcoming grand finals. KT Rolster (KT) has been performing very well lately, but I still feel like Gen.G has some advantages. They have a lot of unique strategies, so I’m quite wary of studying Gen.G before the match. I hope the outcome of LCK Summer 2022 will not repeat,” Oner shared.

In the LCK Summer 2022, T1 suffered a rather bitter defeat in the finals with a score of 0-3. This victory ended Gen.G’s title drought after many years of waiting. Conversely, it became an unpleasant memory for T1’s players at that time.

Perhaps for this reason, Oner seems quite apprehensive as Gen.G still has a chance to reach the grand finals of the LCK Spring 2023 qualifiers. Of course, for Gen.G to meet T1, they must overcome KT in the losers’ final coming up. This is not an easy task for Gen.G as KT has been in high form recently.
