In 2022, up to now, Riot has released 4 new champions, namely: Zeri, Renata Glasc, Bel’Veth, and Nilah. Among these four names, only Zeri and Renata Glasc have truly become useful names for the League of Legends (LoL) community, including in professional matches. In fact, Zeri has become one of the most frequently adjusted champions in the history of this game.

As for Bel’Veth and Nilah, these two champions have almost disappeared from the League of Legends since their release despite being promoted as very strong. Moreover, Bel’Veth has a skill set that allows this champion to progress in power over time. Meanwhile, Nilah is considered a marksman with great attack power, high mobility, and the ability to control multiple targets.

However, Nilah’s case is quite special. This champion has appeared a few times in tournaments like LCK, LPL… The only thing is, after a patch from Riot, Nilah has almost completely vanished. Even in ranked matches, this champion has only a 3.14% pick rate.

The community assesses that Nilah, when she first appeared, generated excitement about a champion with agile skills and significant influence in the match. However, upon closer examination, Nilah’s skill set is actually quite mediocre. According to many analyses, Nilah’s skills seem to be a combination of skills from existing champions in LoL (like Yasuo’s Wind Wall, Diana’s Crescent Moon…). This is the reason why Nilah has lost her appeal in the eyes of players.

Another reason that many players agree on is that Nilah’s skills do not synergize with each other at all. For example, take Vex, released in 2021. Vex’s skill set is not particularly strong either. But because they work together to create a complete whole, Vex becomes a strong champion. In Nilah’s case, each of her abilities is just a bit from other champions. However, they cannot form a complete combination. This makes Nilah less favored by many players, even in normal ranked matches.

Conclusion
Nilah is actually a short-range marksman, almost the only one among the champions considered marksmen in current LoL, except for some “strange” choices like Yasuo or Yone. Moreover, Nilah’s skill set requires her to dive into the enemy’s formation to be effective. With all these disadvantages, choosing Nilah may bring many risks. And perhaps, these are the reasons why this champion has almost completely disappeared from the League of Legends.
