For KT Rolster (KT) fans, LCK Summer 2023 was perhaps once a very bright time. The reason stems from KT’s overwhelming performance during the Group Stage. They even managed to defeat their long-time rivals, T1, at a time when Faker had not yet taken a break from competition. Therefore, the expectations of fans placed on KT were immense.

Those expectations grew even higher as the entire KT roster was included in the list of the “All-Star” lineup of LCK Summer 2023. However, KT fans soon faced disappointment when their team lost to T1 with a final score of 2-3. Many viewers after the match believed that Faker had made the LCK’s all-star lineup meaningless.
“If I were a KT player, I would feel extremely bad right now. KT performed well throughout the group stage and deserved to be part of the all-star lineup. However, when entering a specific match against T1, they lost themselves and suffered a heartbreaking defeat. Faker has proven that that title is merely a reference or a symbol,” one viewer shared.

Fairly speaking, KT had a pretty decent match against T1. They also had good performances that allowed them to take T1 to a decisive game 5. However, KT’s ability to control the game did not hold up in game 5 as they allowed Zeus too much freedom with his Teleport plays. As a result, KT’s two marksmen struggled to maximize their strengths.

Looking on the bright side, this loss does not eliminate KT immediately as they still have a chance in the losers’ bracket. Therefore, they need to overcome the sorrow of the defeat against T1 to secure their place in the upcoming matches. Hopefully, KT will soon find a suitable solution to address the issues they faced after the recent loss.
