A few hours ago, JD Gaming announced the breakup of the player duo LokeN and Mystic. This would likely be just another typical split if one of the names wasn’t Mystic – the hot player who received immense attention due to his stable career and a fairytale romance with Yuka – the beautiful member of the South Korean girl group Girl Crush.

Briefly mentioning Yuka, aside from being Mystic’s ex-wife, she also gained attention as the first female idol in the history of South Korean entertainment to have a child before debuting, even publicly sharing images of her child on her personal page. It’s important to note that this is a highly sensitive issue in the South Korean entertainment industry, where many idols have had to end their careers after publicly starting families.

Following JDG’s announcement, Mystic also penned a lengthy heartfelt letter sharing his departure from JDG – the team he has been with for the past season. Additionally, Mystic officially confirmed his divorce from ex-wife Yuka. Although the matter was publicly disclosed by Yuka on her Instagram earlier in September 2021, this was the first time Mystic spoke about it.

In the beginning of Mystic’s letter, he reflected on his time at JDG, especially after the impact of COVID-19 made his entry difficult and he didn’t have much time to adapt to the new environment and teammates. Additionally, backstage troubles also affected the mindset of this handsome player, which is why he and JDG agreed to end the contract early, as Mystic had few opportunities to play in 2021.
Furthermore, Mystic explained the rumors surrounding the background of his child. Besides confirming that he is the biological father, Mystic stated that his child is being raised by his maternal grandparents and that his ex-wife was not involved in the upbringing or education. This League of Legends player asserted he would do everything possible to gain custody of his child and provide the best education and care, despite the absence of maternal love.
“[…] When my child grows up, they will know they were raised in the arms of their grandmother, not their mother, but they were very well protected. […]”
After Mystic’s heartfelt words, there were mixed opinions directed at Mystic, Yuka, and their child. Once a promising name in Afreeca Freecs, familiar with the LPL atmosphere, the backstage troubles along with the pandemic have left Mystic unemployed while he must also care for a small child. However, while some believe the blame lies with both (Mystic and Yuka), many hope the child will grow up peacefully without being affected by the controversies surrounding their parents.

On the other hand, some also believe that making everything public like this from both Mystic and Yuka will significantly impact their child, especially in the future when the child reaches adulthood.

It can be said that Mystic’s professional journey is coming to an end, as he is now 26 years old – an age considered high for an Esports player. However, his journey with his child is just beginning. No matter what, fans hope that he and especially the poor child will have a beautiful life in the future and overcome the haunting memories of the past, being born and raised in an incomplete family, lacking the love of blood relations.
