A Strength of T1 Players Is Now at Risk of Becoming a “Weakness”
In recent seasons, especially from 2024 to now, one of the significant factors often mentioned about T1 is Gumayusi’s ability to calculate damage and secure objectives. In many matches, this ability of Gumayusi has helped T1 gain substantial advantages and has been regarded by his fans as a point of pride. However, over time, not only experts but also T1 supporters have recognized the issue.

This is because the Smite and control of major jungle objectives fall under the responsibility of the Jungler. If a team finds itself in a 50-50 contest, it means that team is at a disadvantage, and the Jungler is unable to control vision or the situation of the fight. Moreover, when there is a 50-50 dispute and the AD Carry secures the objective, there are usually only two scenarios: the Jungler has been taken down, or the Jungler did not manage to deal the damage.
While in one or two instances, Gumayusi securing objectives may be seen as a strength, the frequency of this occurrence indicates that Oner’s position may be stable in team fights and gank situations, but it is not reliable when competing for objectives or controlling jungle camps. This has also been admitted by experts, including commentator Văn Tùng, who is a die-hard fan of T1 and Gumayusi, stating that this is very problematic for T1.

Furthermore, having to control major objectives while positioning and dealing damage in team fights is far too much work for Gumayusi in a single match. Meanwhile, opponents will almost certainly always target this player as he is a crucial damage source for T1.
Every Position on T1 Needs Improvement
In the current context, every position on T1 needs to revisit their losses and shake up the roster to improve weaknesses. Worlds does not have the extended time like domestic leagues, and T1 is perhaps the team that understands this best.
