The Power of Rammus as a Carry

With his sturdy nature, Rammus has been a powerful tank since his debut. Given that the current Teamfight Tactics meta revolves around many strong damage-over-time carries, Rammus stands out as an excellent counter. His ability to control and reduce damage from opponents’ skills significantly weakens them.

Even a Challenger player on the Brazil server named Galactus has found a way to elevate Rammus to the carry role. His team composition centered around this Armadillo has helped Galactus earn nearly 200 ranking points in just a few days, reaching the Challenger rank.

Building a Team Composition Around Rammus

To start the game effectively, players should utilize Nasus and Malphite combined with other Bruiser champions. The healing ability from the Spirit and the hefty health from Bruisers will make the team incredibly durable in fights. At level 5, players can add a strong independent magic damage dealer like Lulu or Lux to the team.

By level 6, players need to refresh the Shop a bit to find crucial units like Vex, Alistar, and Rammus. Morgana is also a good unit at this stage, providing additional crowd control and debuffs. Once reaching level 7, players can introduce Jhin and Pyke to enhance the team’s durability alongside Zac.

Essentially, players will stop at level 7 and focus on upgrading 3-cost carries like Rammus and Vex to 3 stars. If enough gold is available to reach level 8, Viego and Ekko will serve as quality additions. At this point, Jhin will play the role of a secondary carry, providing physical damage to the team.

Regarding the Augment choices, prioritizing Rammus’s Stone Skin upgrade will be essential. Additionally, augments that support refreshing the Shop (Lucky Ticket) and increasing damage (Ascension, Gemstone Shard) are also suitable for this composition. In terms of items, Rammus will require Thornmail, Dragon’s Claw, and Sunfire Cape to endure and deal maximum damage.

Conclusion

With the Teamfight Tactics meta featuring numerous damage-over-time carries, Rammus proves to be a powerful counter. Players should leverage team compositions revolving around this champion to effectively climb ranks in the current meta.
