Teamfight Tactics Season 6 is a groundbreaking innovation from Riot. It can be said that the core upgrade mechanism is far superior to the Light Items mechanism in Season 5 and the Chosen mechanism in Season 4. This mechanism makes each game distinct and creative, especially reducing the prevalence of spammers to earn points.

Currently, there are over 150 technology upgrades from silver to diamond rank with various advantages depending on the player’s strategy. However, you may not know that at the introduction of Season 6, Riot teased two extremely unique upgrades named Prophet and Blindfold. Both do not increase any stats for players but possess incredibly interesting mechanisms. After being in the shadows for a while, Riot Mortdog has hinted that these two upgrades are likely to appear in patch 6.5 with reasonable adjustments.

With the Prophet mechanism, you can know who your next opponent is and adjust your lineup accordingly to counter their main force. As for the Blindfold upgrade, opponents will not be able to check your board before the round starts. However, after development, Riot still found these two cores to be “quite weak” compared to the general standard. Even providing additional items like the God Slayer Sword for the Prophet upgrade and the Shadow Cloak for the Blindfold core still did not satisfy them.
The two cores mentioned above seem to be very beneficial, especially for Mercenary compositions, as players can anticipate their next opponent to time their abilities and trigger their combos.

In addition to the core upgrades and adjustments to champions, in patch 6.5 we will also have the opportunity to meet Silco – the first character in TFT history to appear from Arcane without being a champion in Summoner’s Rift. According to the film’s original concept, we do not see much of Silco’s combat skills; he is dangerous because of the muscle-bound thugs surrounding him and his vast gang. Therefore, it is very likely that in patch 6.5, Silco will be the “conductor” orchestrating the battle from behind the scenes.
TFT patch 6.5 is scheduled to update in February 2022.
