TFT Set 16: Expensive Champions But “Quality Doesn’t Match Price”

These champions have high costs in TFT Set 16, but their effectiveness has significantly declined.

Expensive Champions But Not Necessarily High Quality in TFT Set 16

In TFT Set 16, there are currently some low-cost champions that are extremely effective, allowing players to build them as key units even towards the end of the game if equipped properly and at the right star level. However, conversely, there are champions that, while appearing frequently, do not perform particularly well and can cause players to “struggle” at lower ranks.

Nasus (4 gold)

As one of the champions regarded as a tank for the Shurima composition, Nasus has not performed as well as players hoped upon unlocking this champion. By the end of the game, Nasus can still become a solid wall. However, equipping items on champions that do not need unlocking or lower-cost tank champions, such as Taric or Sejuani, tends to yield better results than Nasus.

Moreover, the Shurima trait only has 4 champions, and players will almost certainly need to integrate other champions to ensure effectiveness. Consequently, investing items into Nasus may not guarantee good results. This champion has appeared in over 15k games, but the win rate is only around 8%.

Fizz (4 gold)

Continuing the list is Fizz from the Bilgewater trait. In fact, players who use this trait agree that Fizz is not a necessary carry. This is because to survive until Fizz is unlocked (5 Yordle or Bilgewater champions on the board and reaching level 7), players have generally already completed their team composition.

Additionally, towards the end of the match, players will prioritize sturdiness, and Tahm Kench is often favored over Fizz. The items suited for this champion overlap with two stronger Yordle champions, Veigar and Ziggs. Therefore, although Fizz is quite expensive (4 gold), it has appeared in about 13k games, and while achieving a win rate of 15.7%, it still isn’t the optimal choice as the average rank also hovers around 4th place or lower.

Lissandra (4 gold)

Lissandra is quite a special case where the Freljord composition uses this champion as a significant source of damage. However, this leads to the realization that Lissandra is not as powerful as many players have thought. This champion needs to activate the Sorcerer trait and requires substantial support from the team to cast abilities as often as possible. Moreover, Lissandra has a high mana cost, making it difficult to deal damage consistently without the right items.

On the other hand, Lissandra, valued at 4 gold, is not an easy champion to upgrade. Thus, despite being frequently used (63k matches), the win rate for this champion hovers around 10%, with typical placements around 4th place.
