Akali’s Rise in TFT Season 13
Despite having great potential, Akali and the Hyper Accelerated system rarely topped the meta in TFT Season 13. The reason lies in the fact that this composition is very vulnerable to melee carries capable of dealing heavy burst damage, diminishing the speed advantage of the Hyper Accelerated system. Notably, Assassin compositions with Camille and Smeech can quickly eliminate carries like Akali and Nocturne.

However, in patch 13.5, these two units were significantly nerfed and no longer have the capacity to deal excessive burst damage. This opened up a big opportunity for the Hyper Accelerated composition to rise powerfully with a highly effective snowballing effect in battles. Furthermore, when equipping fighter items like Bloodthirster or Titan’s Resolve, the carries of this system can become incredibly resilient and not fear the ranged carries that are currently popular.
Building the Hyper Accelerated Akali Composition in TFT Season 13
The Rebel framework is considered the most effective starting point for this composition as it gives Akali additional survivability with 15% bonus health. Moreover, Irelia and Vex are strong early-game units that supplement the durability and damage that Akali lacks at one star. Additionally, Nocturne is a fantastic early-game addition to activate the 2 Hyper Accelerated threshold to boost damage.

By the mid-game, players should stop buying experience at level 6 and switch to a reroll strategy to upgrade both Akali and Nocturne. Additionally, players should also add two strong 3-cost units like Twisted Fate and Loris to maximize health retention. Loris will significantly increase durability and protect melee carries from losing health too quickly. Meanwhile, Twisted Fate is the essential ranged carry needed to supplement damage and sometimes provides crowd control effects, which this composition severely lacks.

After successfully upgrading Akali and Nocturne, players should quickly push to level 8 to complete the composition with powerful 4-cost champions. Among them, Ambessa will help fulfill the 4 Hyper Accelerated threshold and provide significant damage output, while Illaoi serves as an excellent tank. If players can reach level 9, then Malzahar will be an incredibly strong choice to add damage, making it easier for carries to take down opponents.

Some Tips for Building the Composition
With the use of many melee carries, Bloodthirster and Titan’s Resolve will be the prioritized items to combine when playing this composition. Akali’s third item slot can flexibly switch between Guardian’s Gauntlet, Infinity Edge, or Rabadon’s Deathcap depending on the situation. A small tip when playing this composition is that players should choose the Corrosive core to significantly reduce the defensive stats of the opponent’s frontline. This will greatly increase the output damage of Akali and Nocturne, making it easier for players to secure victories.
