The “New” Honey Bee Trait of TFT Season 12
In TFT Season 12 currently, the Honey Bee trait is in quite a “difficult” situation, leading Riot to decide to rework this trait. Essentially, Honey Bee champions are not weak as many compositions revolving around the “heroic core” of Blitzcrank, Nunu, or Veigar still maintain stable strength. However, the effect of this trait itself is not strong, causing many players to overlook it in favor of more versatile champions.

In the upcoming patch 14.18, Riot will rework this trait by increasing the number of bees each champion possesses to 5 and fixing it at all activation thresholds. Achieving a high activation threshold will increase damage and healing, and the number of bees transferred to allied champions when a unit is defeated will also increase. This change significantly enhances the Honey Bee trait’s effectiveness in dealing damage and healing, especially in the late game. Riot seems very determined to bring the Honey Bee composition back into the meta in the new patch.
The “New” Ahri of TFT Season 12
It is no exaggeration to say that Ahri is currently the champion that TFT Season 12 developers find extremely “headache-inducing”. The proof is that despite nerfing Ahri in patch 14.17, the composition revolving around this unit remains extremely powerful. According to statistics from Metatft.com, the Ahri – Guardian composition still boasts a top 4 rate of up to 56.3% and is ranked in S tier (very strong composition) despite being nerfed.

Therefore, Riot Games has decided to rework this unit by removing the true damage from the orb returning to Ahri’s position. Furthermore, this unit’s ability has been adjusted to always deal single-target damage. In exchange, the “new” Ahri will launch 3 foxfires that deal true damage to enemies near the target, and in subsequent casts, the number of foxfires will increase. This change is seen as a significant nerf for Ahri as she will no longer have the ability to deal burst damage effectively. Perhaps Riot wants this unit to focus on continuous ability casting and utilize the Scholar trait instead of taking down opponents too quickly.
The “New” Nomsy of TFT Season 12
The 1-cost champion tier of TFT Season 12 currently seems to be “ignored” by players as there are not many strong compositions to build. Most compositions relying on 1-cost carries depend on the “heroic cores” of Elise, Poppy, Lillia, etc., but the appearance rate of those upgrades is extremely low. As a result, a series of champions with great potential like Nomsy, Twitch, etc., have become mere units holding gear for more expensive carries rather than being fully invested in.

Understanding this issue, Riot recently announced a rework for Nomsy in the upcoming patch 14.18. Specifically, when the skill deals damage exceeding the remaining health of the target, 50% of that amount will attack 2 adjacent targets. Additionally, when activating the 3 Dragon threshold, the number of targets receiving damage will increase to 4. This adjustment promises to help Nomsy carry rise strongly thanks to its excellent area damage capabilities. Moreover, it will also help this unit gain significant strength in the late game instead of weakening like other 1-cost carries.
