Mai Dora Once Interviewed Ruler
Recently, JD Gaming faced off against Weibo Gaming in their final match of the LPL Summer 2024 domestic tournament. The team, which won MSI 2023, has not maintained its position from last year, but the opportunity to attend Worlds 2024 still exists, especially with Ruler performing at his peak. However, in the end, “one swallow does not make a summer” and Ruler was powerless to keep JDG’s hopes of attending Worlds 2024 alive. Notably, immediately after JDG’s defeat, another name that came up was female host Mai Dora. For those who don’t know, during Summer 2024, Mai Dora conducted several interview programs with well-known players both domestically and internationally. Among them was Ruler from JDG. Specifically, after the interview, Ruler and JDG experienced a clear decline. They lost to Ninjas in Pyjamas and subsequently fell to the regional qualifiers, and most recently lost to WBG.
Many Other Players Have Also Interviewed with Mai Dora
Not only Ruler and JDG, but previously, Mai Dora had interviewed numerous players and, as a “spooky” coincidence, these teams all faced defeats afterward. Famous caster Hoàng Luân even made a post lamenting the “extremely strong aura” of his close junior. Of course, this is all in good fun, but perhaps Mai Dora didn’t think her “aura” was this strong.
In reality, WBG performed significantly better than JDG on that day. Except for game 1, when JDG managed to secure a win in game 4 to equalize, Ruler and his teammates struggled immensely. If it weren’t for the former Gen.G AD Carry maintaining a high level of performance throughout all 5 games, JDG might have lost even earlier. Thus, not performing better than their opponents, it is entirely understandable that the MSI 2023 champions must stay home.
