The Surprising Rise of Warwick in TFT Season 12
In patch 14.19 of TFT Season 12, Riot Games made a series of adjustments to major traits and systems, significantly buffing 4-cost champions. This led to a shift in the meta towards a “Fast 8” playstyle as players relied on strong 4-cost carries or prominent traits with overwhelming power. However, this inadvertently made the mid-game “calmer” as players focused on saving gold to level up. As a result, the reroll Warwick composition emerged, taking full advantage of this “calmness” to dominate matches.

It’s important to note that Warwick has a very strong passive that permanently stacks attack speed with each kill. Additionally, the damage increase from this passive has been continuously buffed in recent patches. Therefore, during the mid-game, this unit can accumulate power very well and can compete against other carries late in the game. Moreover, if players are lucky enough to acquire the Bloodthirster, this unit becomes “unstoppable”.

Building the “Frenzied Wolf” Warwick Team in TFT Season 12
One of the signs that players should use Warwick is acquiring multiple units of him in the early game. At that point, players can combine him with Blitzcrank to activate the 2 Vanguard trait, increasing Warwick’s durability. As for the backline carry position, Twitch is a great option as he also costs 1 gold and shares the Glacial trait with Warwick.

Similar to other 1-cost reroll strategies, players should not purchase experience early to optimize Warwick’s appearance rate. During the reroll process to upgrade Warwick, players should add units like Rumble or Galio to activate the 4 Vanguard trait. At level 6 (after upgrading Warwick to 3 stars), Zilean will be a suitable choice to activate the 3 Glacial trait and provide crowd control for the team.

In the late game, players should aim to activate the 6 Vanguard trait to ensure Warwick’s durability as a carry. Items such as Redemption or Frozen Heart will play an important role in allowing this unit to deal damage more comfortably. Additionally, Olaf or Xerath will be strong options in the late game to share the damage-dealing responsibility and take down opponents alongside Warwick.

Some Tips When Building Warwick
The optimal item build for Warwick is Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Mercury’s Treads, and Hextech Gunblade. However, if these specific items are not available, players can substitute with Bloodthirster or Infinity Edge. Additionally, players should choose upgrades that provide artifact items to enhance both Warwick and the team. The Shielding Core is also a great option as it significantly increases the defense of Vanguard champions.
