Power of the Mage – Divine Team Composition
With the rise of the Spirit Beast tribe recently, the playstyle utilizing heavy-hitting carries in the backline has become very popular. A multitude of units at various price points such as Kindred, Senna, Aphelios, and more can leverage the tankiness of Spirit Beasts to deal good damage. This requires TFT players to find effective ways to counter these types of carries. After some time getting accustomed to the new season, strong Mage units like Lillia and Hwei have been utilized for this purpose.

Essentially, these are all carries with good area damage potential or the ability to reach the enemy’s backline. Therefore, when fully equipped, players can “wipe out” the opponent’s carries and secure victory.
Building the Mage – Divine Team Composition
In the early game, players should utilize 1-cost units and carry good items like Kog’Maw or Cho’Gath. These will ensure a solid output of damage for the composition, helping players maintain health effectively. Players can even take advantage of the currently hot Spirit Beast tribe by adding Caitlyn or Shen if they acquire them early on.

The most important goal in the mid-game is to maintain as much health and gold as possible to level up consistently. At this point, Alune will be a necessary addition to activate the 2 Mage effect and help the entire composition regenerate energy quickly. Players should also be on the lookout to buy important units like Annie and Lillia (if available) to prepare for transitioning in the late game.

After reaching level 9, players will start to “spend money” to look for the necessary carries. The top priority at this point will be to upgrade Lillia to 2 stars to become the main damage dealer. Following that, units like Hwei and Azir will be important additions to complete the composition. Additionally, tank units like Nautilus and Ornn are always good choices in the late game.

Items and Technology Cores
Regarding items, Lillia will need the Spear of Shojin and Hextech Gunblade to deal consistent damage. For the last item, players should craft Rabadon’s Deathcap or Guardian Angel. In addition, upgrades that provide abundant resources (gold and experience) fit this composition well as it requires level 9 to operate effectively. For battle cores, Gemstone is the best choice for this team composition as it suits all carries like Lillia, Azir, and Hwei.
