The Rise of 4-Cost Champions in TFT

In patch 14.8, Riot Games has reduced the power of several reroll compositions like Yone, Gnar… Conversely, a number of 4-cost champions have received significant buffs. As a result, the reroll playstyle has become less effective, and TFT players are gradually turning to compositions that maximize the use of 4-cost champions.

Among them, the Sorcerer – Celestial composition is emerging very strongly as key champions like Ashe and Annie have been buffed. Moreover, this composition also includes many champions with strong crowd control such as Nautilus and Lissandra. These units are crucial for countering melee carry compositions (Lee Sin, Kayn) that are currently very strong.

Building the Sorcerer – Celestial Composition

To achieve the best start, players should use Kog’Maw and Caitlyn along with 2 Giant champions, Malphite and Cho’Gath. This core provides excellent sustain in the early game, offering both backline damage and ensuring durability. Furthermore, Caitlyn and Kog’Maw are both excellent item carriers for carries, allowing players to start assembling items early.

In the mid-game, players should aim for high-value 3-cost champions like Amumu or Illaoi. These will significantly increase the team’s durability and help players accumulate enough gold to level up to 8 as quickly as possible. If possible, players should also buy 4-cost units like Ashe, Annie, Nautilus… to facilitate future “re-rolling”.

After reaching level 8, players should use their gold to seek out and upgrade important 4-cost units to 2 stars. Among these, Ashe, Lillia, and Annie should be prioritized. After that, players need to save gold to reach level 9 in the late game. This is essential for acquiring useful 5-cost units like Lissandra and Azir to aim for victory.

Items and Augments

For the carry Ashe, items like Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Infinity Edge will be the “core items” to ensure damage output. Lillia will need Blue Buff combined with magic items to continuously cast spells. Regarding Augments, upgrades that provide Celestial Emblem are extremely valuable as they can significantly increase Annie’s durability. Additionally, the Overflowing Points or Recruiter augments are also excellent for this composition.
