The Rise of the Teemo – Lux Duo
In recent patches, Teemo and Lux have been quite favored by Riot Games as they have continuously received damage buffs. Not stopping there, both units interact strongly with powerful Creation items in TFT. This ensures that the damage output of this duo is always guaranteed at every stage of the match.
Furthermore, both Lux and Teemo can deal damage through the frontline to the backline carries. This is seen as a very good tool to take down team compositions that use 4-cost carries like Ashe, Kai’Sa, and Syndra. Not only that, but Lux is also considered a “hard counter” to the currently popular Yone – Dark team composition. The reason is that when Yone dives into the backline, this unit will always be hit by Lux’s stun ability, significantly reducing the damage.
Therefore, the composition revolving around the “twin assassins” Lux – Teemo has been favored by many TFT experts in the current meta. This duo has an excellent ability to counter strong compositions and can help players secure victories and climb ranks quite easily.
Building a Composition Around the “Twin Assassins” Lux – Teemo
In the early game, players should start with a Scholar – Marksman framework. This composition offers a balance in durability and damage output, as Garen and Riven prove to be very strong in the early game. Gamers should also equip items early for Teemo to ensure damage output.
By the time players reach level 6, they should stop buying experience and adopt a slow roll strategy to upgrade Lux – Teemo to 3 stars. During this process, strong Guardian units like Amumu or Illaoi should also be purchased and placed on the battlefield to ensure durability. Additionally, Thresh or Shen would be a great addition to the frontline to create more space for Lux and Teemo to deal damage.
After successfully upgrading Lux – Teemo to 3 stars, players should level up to 8 as quickly as possible. The reason is that players need to activate the 4 Guardian threshold to create a strong enough frontline in the late game. Furthermore, players will also have a higher chance of obtaining strong 4-cost units like Morgana, Nautilus… to complete the composition.
Items and Augments
Regarding Augments, Gemstone Engraving proves to be a powerful upgrade in increasing the damage of both Lux and Teemo. Additionally, the upgrades that provide Creation items are also very suitable for this composition. Besides that, Double Strength or Trade Zone are also very strong choices for snowballing in the mid-game. If players can obtain the Guardian Emblem, they can give it to Diana and combine it with Xayah in the late game for maximum effectiveness
For Teemo, the two crucial items for this unit are Blue Buff and Morello’s Tome. Players can use Sorcerer Hat or Gemstone Gloves in the 3rd item slot. As for Lux, this unit will need Shojin’s Spear and Sorcerer Hat to deal effective damage. Lux can even hold Statikk’s Shiv if players lack any other sources of magic penetration.
