TFT: Learn the Unique Gnar – Yordle Composition from the Masters

Gnar is an incredibly annoying carry with great physical damage capabilities.

The Power of Gnar

One thing that few players notice is that Gnar’s skill already has a critical damage effect. Therefore, players do not need to build Infinity Edge to deal massive damage with this unit. This allows Gnar to equip semi-tank items like Giant Slayer and Bloodthirster while still being able to “carry the team” effectively.

When combined with the transport capability of the Hacker trait, Gnar can easily eliminate the opponent’s backline. This becomes even more effective in patch 13.7 as long-range carries are making a strong comeback. With clever positioning, players can secure victories quite easily with Gnar.

Building the Gnar – Hacker Composition

At the beginning of the game, players still start with the trio of Lulu – Poppy – Annie, just like typical Yordle compositions. Additionally, a Vanguard unit like Wukong or Rell will help the composition tank better in fights. Players should also focus on stacking defensive items for Annie early on.

During the mid-game, Shen and Gnar are the champions that need to be purchased to ensure both damage and tankiness. Players can bench Lulu to bring in stronger units like LeBlanc, Pyke, etc. However, players still need to keep Lulu to activate the 5 Yordle trait later in the match.

Players should stop at level 7 to quickly upgrade Gnar and Annie to 3 stars. If lucky, LeBlanc can also be pushed to 3 stars. At level 8, the most valuable upgrade will be Nunu with the 5 Yordle milestone to increase Gnar’s damage output.

Regarding the Augments, the upgrades that provide the Yordle Heart and Yordle Emblem are the most important. They will help players achieve the 5 Yordle trait without requiring Nunu. Additionally, augments like Knife’s Edge, Loot Master, etc., are also very suitable for Gnar. In terms of items, Gnar will need Bloodthirster, Giant Slayer, and Giant’s Power to effectively tank and deal damage.

Conclusion

With the critical effect already available in his skill, Gnar proves to be an extremely strong physical carry at the moment. This promises to be an effective ranking strategy as the Yordle trait is not overly contested at this time.
