One noticeable thing in the current meta is that Shadow and compositions revolving around Shadow are dominating every match in TFT, not to mention other strong compositions like Sorcerer – Star Guardian or Guardian – Cosmic, which always have at least two players using them. In this context, the 2222222 composition is considered an extremely safe and effective option.

To explain the name “7 two”, the composition is structured as follows:
– 2 Guardians: Jarvan, Rakan.
– 2 Time Mages: Twisted Fate, Caitlyn.
– 2 Shadows: Jarvan, Karma.
– 2 Mystics: Karma, Soraka.
– 2 Sorcerers: Zoe, Twisted Fate.
– 2 Marksmen: Ashe, Caitlyn.
– 2 Cosmiques: Ashe, Rakan.

It is easy to see that this is the most “flexible” and multi-Tribe/Class composition in Teamfight Tactics, with units drawn from various core teams, allowing for easy adjustments without the fear of not rolling the right units as is the case when playing a pure type composition. In Korea, this composition is also succinctly referred to as “Jarvan Caitlyn” since these will be the two main carry units.

The first strength of this composition is that it is “cheap”, costing only 48 gold to fully assemble a complete 2-star team. In contrast, the Sorcerer – Star Guardian composition costs 72 gold, the Marksman – Space Explorer composition costs 81 gold, and the Shadow composition costs 72 gold. Hyper-rolling 3 one-cost units like Jarvan, Caitlyn, and Twisted Fate is also quite easy at the moment.

Next, this composition fully utilizes the new passive of Shadows, where any fallen ally provides additional damage (previously, allies had to belong to Shadows), with the condition of equipping items to Jarvan and leveling him to 3-star early. Combined with the passives from Guardians and Cosmiques, Jarvan will have solid durability, good healing, and decent damage.

With the additional magic resistance from Mystics, the 2222222 composition has a decent chance of surviving against the current “Synbu” composition, especially since the Star Guardians just received a significant nerf across all positions.
One small but equally important detail is that both Jarvan, Rakan, Ashe, Soraka, Zoe, and Karma were all buffed after version 10.14. At the 2 Cosmic threshold, the health restored from damage dealt increased from 15% to 20%, overall making this composition feel like “a collection of units that have been significantly powered up”, gathering strength to gain an advantage.

If you cannot roll for Caitlyn 3 or collect many Tears and B.F. swords, do not hesitate to transfer items to Ashe and witness her unleash spells continuously, even expensive enemy units will suffer the fate of being “frozen to death”. The advice is to be flexible depending on the situation to shift focus to Jarvan – Ashe instead of Jarvan – Caitlyn as initially planned.
On the other hand, equip Rakan with 1 to 2 items so he can dive into the enemy backline and effectively apply wide area crowd control, neutralizing troublesome units with strong “one hit one kill” capabilities like Syndra, Jhin, or Shaco. Shojin’s Spear will be a core item, followed by other effect-inducing items like Static Shiv, Frozen Heart, or Morellonomicon.

At level 9, players can flexibly add Janna to achieve 3 Star Guardians or use other strong 5-cost units like Xerath or Urgot to synergize with Shadows or Guardians.
Wishing you success in climbing the ranks in TFT.
