TES Overcomes T1 in Their Opening Match at the 2024 World Championship
After the draw results for the first round of the Swiss stage at the 2024 World Championship, the clash between T1 and TES was immediately regarded as the highlight match. This was not only a match between representatives of the LPL and LCK but also a rematch of the recent EWC 2024 finals. Therefore, both teams were eager to secure a victory to assert their strength and ambition for this year’s World Championship title.

After about 30 minutes of intense gameplay, TES managed to overcome Faker and his teammates thanks to their excellence in critical team fights. There, JackeyLove shone brightly with his outstanding positioning, dealing significant damage to take down T1 players. This victory helped TES advance to a 1-0 record and take another step closer to a playoff spot.

Tian Admits TES Needs to Learn from T1 in One Important Quality
Despite winning the recent match, TES holds a great deal of respect for the T1 team. Perhaps they understand that this victory largely stemmed from JackeyLove’s individual brilliance, as TES did not seem to outshine T1 in lane or macro movement across the map. Even when faced with significant disadvantages, T1 did not give up and sought opportunities to turn the tables. Therefore, right after the match ended, TES’s jungler, Tian, admitted to the media that they still need to learn from T1.

“In fact, I had been thinking about facing T1 even before coming to Europe, and I’m glad that TES managed to defeat this opponent. I believe T1 is truly a resilient team that never gives up. Even when they were at a disadvantage today, T1 continued to look for opportunities to defeat us. For TES to have that kind of resilience, we still have a lot to learn from T1,” Tian shared.
Indeed, watching the recent match between TES and T1, viewers will notice that the LCK representatives often sought ways to initiate fights to secure victory. They previously succeeded in catching JackeyLove early in the game, creating a significant advantage, even though T1 had been somewhat outmatched by TES in the laning phase. Nevertheless, JackeyLove played exceptionally well afterward and did not give T1 any opportunity to threaten him.

In TES’s next match, they will face another strong opponent from the LCK named Gen.G. This is a team renowned for its systematic play and tight control of the game, presenting a significant challenge for TES. It is likely that TES will need to harness the spirit of never giving up and the resilience they learned from T1 to defeat this formidable opponent.
