If you didn’t know, Kiyoon is a streamer and player of Teamfight Tactics from Team SoloMid. Since Season 1, Kiyoon has consistently reached the Grandmaster rank, even ranking as the top player on the North American server in June this year. In his latest tutorial video, Kiyoon shared some valuable insights on running what he considers the strongest composition right now – the God Team combined with Sorcerer.

According to Kiyoon, the God Team – Sorcerer composition primarily derives its power from the trio of Heimerdinger – Volibear – Ivern. These units complement each other perfectly as Volibear and Ivern have strong crowd control abilities, while Heimerdinger deals enormous damage. When executed optimally, the God Team – Sorcerer can easily secure victories.

The weakness of this composition lies in the requirement for players to acquire expensive 4-5 cost units. Therefore, Kiyoon recommends that players choose the Giant’s Belt as their starting item instead of items that increase skill damage. The reasoning is that players can combine the Giant’s Belt with strong tank items like Warmog’s Blood Armor and Sunfire Cape, allowing them to maintain a large health pool in the early game. This way, they can accumulate significant gold to level up and roll for champions.
The traits and origins you can aim for in the early and mid-game when planning to play the God Team – Sorcerer will be Brawler and Zombie. Regarding the champion holding items for Heimerdinger, Zyra is the best choice as she can utilize most items that increase magic damage. After having a solid front line and a Zyra with sufficient damage, you should save gold and level up steadily.

In the late game, players will have quite a few options to complete their composition alongside the trio of Heimerdinger – Volibear – Ivern. If you already have a strong enough Zombie lineup, you can skip the Sorcerer trait and add Heimerdinger to ensure damage output in the back line. In the case of acquiring Teemo, players may stop at 3 Zombies to gain additional Sorcerer effects.

Another piece of advice from Kiyoon is to observe your opponents and purchase Armor units if facing many strong physical damage compositions. In that case, units like Jax, Nautilus, and Rell can replace the tanking role of Zombie units and help Heimerdinger avoid taking damage too quickly.

Regarding item selection, Shojin’s Spear and the Staff of the Archangel (and their respective Light versions) are the “core items” for Heimerdinger. Essentially, this champion has a very large energy pool, so the two items above will help Heimerdinger cast spells faster and achieve a very high skill damage output. Additionally, items like Archangels Gloves, Rabadon’s Deathcap, and Hand of Justice… are all good choices for Heimerdinger.
