Recently, a player with the in-game name AlmosthereTFT has amazed the community by climbing to Grandmaster rank using only an Assassin composition. In his latest guide, AlmosthereTFT shared some incredibly useful tips for the Teamfight Tactics community regarding these assassins. So what are those tips? Let’s find out!

One of the biggest mistakes many players make when playing the Assassin composition is trying too hard to roll at level 7 to get Nocturne to 3 stars. According to AlmosthereTFT, the damage difference between Nocturne at 2 stars and 3 stars in patch 11.16 is not as significant as before. If you are competing fiercely for Nocturne, the best course of action is to level up to 8 to allow 4-cost units like Diana, Ivern, and Fiddlesticks to get to 2 stars, ensuring a strong damage output for your team.

Furthermore, AlmosthereTFT also mentioned that you need to be more flexible with itemization for Nocturne to help this champion deal better damage based on the match. Essentially, Nocturne’s “core” item will be the Blue Bow, while the other two items can be adjusted depending on the situation instead of being fixed to Infinity Edge and Runaan’s Hurricane.

For the main damage item, AlmosthereTFT recommends building Death’s Sword if you don’t have Sparring Gloves. Since patch 11.11, Death’s Sword has been buffed with increased base AD stacks, making the damage provided by this item comparable to Infinity Edge. Additionally, when facing teams with good crowd control in the backline, such as Evil with Lulu, Giant Slayer is a better item than Runaan’s Hurricane.

Regarding the reroll timing, AlmosthereTFT believes that round 3-6 is the perfect time to roll for the Assassin composition. The reason is that this is the round where you just picked up a Light item, significantly boosting your team’s strength. Rolling to find the necessary units and upgrade your main carries will help maximize the power of the Light item you just acquired. Moreover, round 3-6 is also when players reach level 7 and have a high chance of upgrading Nocturne.

For team positioning, AlmosthereTFT always places Diana and Nocturne next to each other. The reasoning is that this player often equips Diana with the Trap Claw, and such positioning will help Nocturne avoid being hit by too many skills. Moreover, Diana’s ability will disrupt the positioning of the opposing team and interrupt their damage rhythm. Placing this unit next to Nocturne will give your team’s carry more opportunities to deal damage effectively.

Hopefully, with the above experiences from AlmosthereTFT, players will be able to climb the ranks more effectively when using the Assassin composition.
