As we know, in season 6.5, Riot Games introduced a new feature in Teamfight Tactics called “next opponent prediction.” Basically, when entering the preparation phase, next to the icons of some opponents, there will be an additional icon of two crossed swords. When an opponent has that icon, it means they have a chance to face you in the next round. If only one player has that icon, you will definitely face that player in the next fight.

Taking advantage of this, Challenger players have come up with an extremely useful tip specifically for the Assassin composition. Specifically, this composition is most afraid of having its carry jump into confrontation with units that can control them or deal strong damage from the backline. Therefore, instead of “scouting” all opponents, you should only check the players who have a chance to face you in the next round (those with the sword icon).
For example, in the video above, the Challenger player – K3soju has a 3-star Twitch as his carry and does not want to face strong control units in the backline. When “scouting” the 3 players who could face him, only one player had Zilean, who has the ability to control Twitch. Therefore, this player moved Twitch to the opposite side of Zilean. Even though he did not encounter that player in the next round, if they did face each other, K3soju would still win because Twitch would deal damage comfortably.

Not only Twitch, but also other carries of the Assassin team like Talon or Kha’Zix should apply this tip to arrange the best possible positioning. Nobody wants their hard-built and upgraded carry to be neutralized or go down too early. Therefore, you should place the Assassin units in the safest position to deal maximum damage.
Of course, this tip can also be applied to other compositions, but it is easiest to use with the Assassin team. The reason is that this team comp often utilizes hyper-roll gameplay and revolves around just a few key carries. Therefore, when repositioning your carry, you also spend very little time and have more room to “scout” the enemy team.
