Demon
Although Tristana received a slight nerf in patch 11.16, the Demon trait’s buff makes this composition a very strong choice in Teamfight Tactics. One of the strengths of the Demon composition is its flexibility in choosing playstyles based on the game’s progress. You can easily stop at level 6 to reroll Tristana to 3 stars and snowball the match. Players can also take a slower approach, leveling up to 8 to add quality units like Lucian, Teemo… into the composition.

According to Challenger player Kiyoon, the essential item you must build when playing the Demon team is the Blue Bow. This item will help Tristana and the entire Demon composition deal damage very effectively with the added attack speed. If you must start with items that increase skill damage, don’t be discouraged; switch to using carries like Miss Fortune (when playing 4 Snipers) and Teemo (6 Demon composition).
Undead with Magic Carries
With the ability to summon Mutant Undead along with a massive amount of stats, the Undead trait remains incredibly strong in season 5.5. However, Riot’s nerf to the attack speed boost effect from the Mutant Undead’s skill has made this unit no longer deal overwhelming damage. Instead, the Mutant Undead will become a heavy tank on the battlefield with crowd control effects, dealing significant damage when summoned.

To balance the composition, the best units to pair with the Undead at this moment are magic carries. You can use Vel’Koz and Zyra as the main damage dealers, taking advantage of the fact that the Undead trait already has a Mage unit in Brand. Furthermore, this trait also synergizes well with the trio of Heimerdinger – Volibear – Ivern to create strong crowd control along with massive area damage.

Rangers
The main reason Kiyoon ranks Rangers among the strongest compositions currently is that this system has two incredibly powerful carries: Akshan and Aphelios. For Aphelios, this champion shows remarkable versatility in dealing damage over time and burst damage. If this champion activates the damage increase effect from the Mystic trait, Aphelios’s output damage will become even more terrifying.

As for Akshan, the only way to describe this character is “overpowered.” The dominance of the Akshan – Aphelios combo is that the Vanguard can reduce the armor of many enemy champions when using the Heroic Leap skill. This further amplifies the damage from Aphelios’s Dark Guiding skill. Even when opponents deliberately buy Armor units to counter, this duo still provides players with an incredibly high amount of damage to secure victory.
