Yasuo – Mage
In patch 11.18 of Teamfight Tactics, there are two notable changes: Volibear’s ability has lost the shield destruction feature, and units like Kayle and Lucian have been nerfed in damage. Essentially, these adjustments have significantly weakened late-game compositions like Vanguard, Kayle, and friends… This creates an opportunity for early-game compositions centered around strong 3-cost carries like Yasuo – Mage to rise as an excellent choice for climbing ranks in patch 11.18.

If you didn’t know, one of the terrifying aspects of the Mage trait is that it provides a significant percentage-based damage increase when activating the shield. This stat interacts with the true damage Yasuo possesses from his ability, making his damage output at 4 Mages extremely high. With the adjustments in patch 11.18, the Mage shield is now much harder to break quickly, further increasing Yasuo’s damage potential.
6 Demons
If you have ever played a 6 Demon composition, you know that this team comp struggles against carries that deal significant area damage. The reason is that you have to occupy 6 slots in your composition to activate the 6 Demon threshold, making it difficult to acquire additional traits that provide strong defensive capabilities for the entire team. Therefore, with units like Lucian, Kayle, or compositions relying on Demon champions in the frontline being nerfed, the 6 Demon team will naturally benefit.

However, the 6 Demon composition still has the characteristic weakness of hyper-roll play, which is dependent on luck. It is very difficult to upgrade all Demon units to 3 stars in a real match. Therefore, the advice is to choose a few key carries to upgrade in order to save gold. If you get many items that increase attack damage and attack speed, then Tristana and Kled are reasonable choices. In cases where you receive many items that boost skill damage, Kennen and Ziggs should be the champions chosen to upgrade to 3 stars.
Aphelios – Marksman
In fact, compositions revolving around Aphelios have been very strong since patch 11.17 when this unit had overwhelming burst damage from its ability. Therefore, when the strongest carries from the previous patch were nerfed, Aphelios naturally became a highly sought-after damage dealer in patch 11.18. In fact, Aphelios at 3 stars can literally “blow away” the opponent’s team as Riot has significantly buffed his skill damage.

The advice for players when building items for Aphelios is to prioritize Infinity Edge over Bloodthirster. While Bloodthirster provides a significant lifesteal, the percentage-based damage increase from Infinity Edge will greatly elevate the damage Aphelios deals. This is essential for players to secure victories against 3-star roll compositions like Yasuo – Mage, Knight – Sorcerer, or 6 Demons that are trending in patch 11.18.
