Empire – Assassin
With a slew of Empire champions buffed in Teamfight Tactics since patch 12.1, this composition has been strong recently. Even moving into patch 12.2, this build received indirect buffs as the Gang – Assassin composition was heavily nerfed and became extremely weak. This has significantly reduced the number of players competing for Talon compared to those using the Empire team, allowing you to upgrade this crucial piece much earlier.

Additionally, using 2 colossal units, Sion and Galio, towards the end of the game also helps players save a significant amount of gold to upgrade their compositions. This is an important factor for compositions that require a lot of rerolling to get Talon to 3 stars, as you will have more gold to do so. If you want to build Talon successfully, my advice is to combine the Spellthief’s Cloth and Rapid Firecannon for this unit first to ensure your main damage dealer’s safety.
Innovator
It seems that the nerf Riot aimed at Seraphine in patch 12.2 was still too mild and did not strip the Innovator of its title as “king of compositions”. While Seraphine’s healing ability has decreased, as long as Janna or Orianna are still in the composition, the Innovator remains extremely resilient. Moreover, with champions available at all price points, players can build an Innovator team from the early game without needing to “pivot” too much.

The advice when building an Innovator team is not to be overly greedy with the Idol slot, especially with Jayce’s position. For the Innovator team, the winning condition lies in Jayce receiving continuous healing from Seraphine or Janna. With Janna, it’s quite simple as this unit heals the entire team; however, Seraphine only provides this in a straight line when casting her ability. If you place Jayce in a different position than Seraphine, this unit can easily be taken down.
Spellcaster – Yordles
Essentially, this composition is a variant of the Empire team as it also utilizes Talon and Samira to ensure physical damage output. However, by using Swain instead of Sion, you need to have at least 4 Spellcasters to ensure this unit deals damage as effectively as possible. Clearly, when using a Spellcaster team, players often aim for Ziggs, Vex, and the 3 Yordles threshold to maximize their gold income.

And thus, the Spellcaster – Yordles composition was born, leveraging the incredible damage potential from Spellcaster units. Furthermore, with the inclusion of Lulu and Janna, this team will heal extraordinarily well in battles. This creates an optimal condition for Vex and Swain to survive and deal significant damage. The only advice when playing this composition is that you should combine as many Power Chalices as possible to enhance the team’s damage output.
