Academy
It’s quite humorous that the Academy trait has many strong units and powerful carries, yet this composition is extremely weak. Names like Yone, Lux, and Katarina are champions with the potential to deal devastating damage. Meanwhile, Yuumi is considered the strongest unit in Teamfight Tactics as she can provide immense power regardless of the composition. However, this cannot compensate for the somewhat “underwhelming” effect of the Academy trait in the current meta.

Basically, for Academy units to become powerful and deal significant damage, they need to continuously cast spells and buff each other’s attack stats. However, at 4-6 Academy champions, you rarely can fit high-tier Scholar champions into the composition. Moreover, the attack stats buffed by the Academy trait are not substantial enough to make a noticeable difference in damage. Perhaps Riot needs to revamp how this stat buff works to make the Academy composition more viable.
Imperial
It’s no exaggeration to say that the Imperial composition centered around Samira as the carry is one of the biggest victims of patch 11.24. While in patch 11.23, rolling a 3-star Samira would easily secure you a top 4 finish, this has become much more difficult in patch 11.24. Being a single-target damage dealer, Samira struggles to quickly take down frontline units like Sion and Galio.

This weakness also creates another issue for Samira; she is too easily countered by agile carries or well-protected units. This champion almost guarantees a loss when facing players using Kai’Sa or compositions that feature Lux and Jhin as backline carries. As a result, the Imperial team with Samira has gradually been neglected by players due to being heavily countered by many compositions. It seems Riot should slightly improve Samira’s damage capability to make this composition more viable in the new patch.
Gang – Assassin
In reality, the Assassin trait is not weak; if anything, it counters quite a few team comps in the current meta. However, the advice is not to combine Assassins with Gang in the current meta as it has a rather disadvantageous effect compared to other traits. The reason is that when reaching high thresholds, the benefits provided by Gang are quite low, resulting in this trait often “falling short” in the late game.

If Riot intends to adjust the Gang trait, it would be best to allow its stats to scale according to activation thresholds, along with helping the entire team receive those stats (at 7 champions). This will help alleviate the “falling short” issue of Gang in the late game. Additionally, key units like Shaco and Akali will have more freedom to deal damage as their durability would significantly increase.
