Teamfight Tactics: Top 3 “Celebration” Compositions After the Demon Team Nerf in Patch 11.16b

Teamfight Tactics players should leverage the following compositions to rank up more effectively.

Warrior – Guardian

Essentially, the variants of the Warrior – Guardian composition have significantly better average placement after the Demon team was nerfed. The strength of this composition lies in melee carries who can withstand battles incredibly well due to the large amounts of armor and shields added. If you combine it with 4 Knights, units like Jax and Irelia become even more “tanky” and can even win 1v1 against 3-star Assassin units like Nocturne.

However, with the Demon composition, those melee carries can be easily countered. Lulu’s transformation ability is an extremely strong counter tool to nullify the significant damage from Jax, Irelia, and others. Moreover, having many melee units in the composition inadvertently optimizes the damage from Tristana’s Gunner trait. Therefore, with both Tristana and Lulu receiving significant nerfs, compositions revolving around Warrior – Guardian have become much stronger.

6 Celestials

The 6 Celestials composition in Teamfight Tactics Season 5.5 has not changed much in terms of gameplay compared to the mid-season update. You will still rely on a fully equipped Vel’Koz to be the main source of damage to take down the enemy team. Meanwhile, other Celestial units sometimes only serve the role of being taken down as quickly as possible to increase Vel’Koz’s skill damage. Additionally, you will also need to have Ivern in the Celestial team to activate the Mystic trait effect.

The weakness of this composition is that it plays very slowly and relies heavily on reaching level 8. In some matches, you can only use your gold once you reach level 8 to look for ways to upgrade Vel’Koz, Rell, and Ivern to 2 stars. Meanwhile, the Demon team, with its immense power at level 6, can easily obliterate an unfinished Celestial composition. With the Demon team nerfed, the Celestial composition can now comfortably hold onto gold without worrying too much about losing health.

Dark God – Sorcerer

If you didn’t know, the trio of Heimerdinger – Ivern – Volibear are champions that professional players highly value. Therefore, the Dark God – Sorcerer team is considered to be the strongest composition in the late game if completed. The weakness of this team composition lies in its heavy reliance on a lot of 4-5 gold champions, requiring players to have a significant amount of luck to operate effectively.

Furthermore, the gameplay of the Dark God – Sorcerer team in the early and mid-game is also incredibly slow as players only have the task of saving gold and leveling up. This is considered a favorite target of the Demon composition as it has the ability to snowball too strongly with 3-star Tristana in the mid-game. With the “archenemy” heavily nerfed in patch 11.16b, the Dark God – Sorcerer team has shown to be significantly stronger than before.
