Sorcerer – Star Guardians
Although the Goddess of the Moon’s Blessing has reduced the additional energy by 5, this does not seem to have diminished the popularity of the Sorcerer – Star Guardians composition in patch 10.8. In just one night, it has climbed to S tier in Teamfight Tactics. With Syndra, a strong carry at a reasonable cost of 3 gold, receiving a buff, this composition has become significantly stronger.

However, the frightening aspect of the current Sorcerer composition is that it has many more options in the late game. Besides Vel’Koz, Xerath has also appeared as an excellent choice for carrying late game. In essence, magical damage has much higher burst potential compared to regular attacks, so with just a slight buff from Riot, Sorcerers are back in business.

Pilot – Infiltrator
Although nerfed, the reason Pilot – Infiltrator remains a strong composition in Teamfight Tactics is due to its inherent power and the presence of the Trading Galaxy. Essentially, compositions using Pilots, especially when combined with Infiltrators, create a powerhouse team as Super Robots are significantly stronger than regular units. Even with nerfed stats later on, Pilots are still strong in the early to mid-game.

Shaco is similar in that this jester can still “oneshot” most enemy units even after being nerfed to 3 stars. Moreover, the Trading Galaxy is truly a paradise for Pilot – Infiltrator players because you spend less to roll and have a greater chance to get Fizz, completing your Pilot early, and also have the opportunity to own a 3-star Shaco early.

6 Dark Star
With the appearance of Xerath, the Dark Star composition gains another quality carry, making the 6 Dark Star composition incredibly powerful if equipped correctly. The greatest strength of this composition is that from mid to late game, it has a variety of carries that deal both strong physical and magical damage, making it very difficult for opponents to counter.

The only weakness of this composition is its heavy reliance on having strong items for Shaco, Jhin, and partially for Mordekaiser as well. If you happen to face a monster round with all gold, it can be hard to secure a top 1. However, this is only a rare occurrence; 6 Dark Star is still an incredibly strong team and even stronger with the addition of Xerath.

Fighter – Void
This composition has not been altered and remains incredibly powerful at the moment, even serving as a hard counter to some hyper-roll compositions with its massive true damage. One important thing that Riot has not mentioned in the game update is that they have modified Vel’Koz so that he no longer has instances of “going into the ground,” which inadvertently is a strong buff for this composition.

The frightening aspect of Fighter – Void is that this composition has virtually no counters; the damage dealt is primarily true damage and cannot be impeded. Indeed, as long as Vel’Koz has sufficient items and levels, this composition can easily secure a high top placement.
