The Galaxy mechanic is a breakthrough in Teamfight Tactics Season 3 as it directly impacts the thought process and team composition building in the game. Riot Games has also promised that at least 10 new Galaxies will be added to Teamfight Tactics, so with each patch, we eagerly await what exciting changes they will bring to the game.

In the latest Ask Riot, information about 2 new Galaxies to be updated in the next patch was revealed by Riot Games, one of which has the official name Treasure Trove, while the other Galaxy is yet to be named.

A player asked: “When will you add new Galaxies to Teamfight Tactics? How is this season progressing?”
Riot Games responded: “We will add new Galaxies in the next patch! This week we have already named the Trading Post and the Tropical Galaxy in the game. The Trading Post allows players to roll for free once per round, while the Tropical Galaxy will grant Natural Armor for free when players reach level 5.
In the next patch, we are adding the Treasure Trove Galaxy where every NPC in the monster rounds has the chance to drop treasure chests. The appearance rate of this Galaxy will be much lower than that of other Galaxies. We are also experimenting with a universe that will add 2-star champions in the shared draft, and you can explore these Galaxies right now on the PBE server.
Overall, we are very excited about how Teamfight Tactics Season 3 is developing, mainly because you are so enthusiastic about it. Although we had a rough start with Gangplank and the 5-cost champions, things are now looking better as we move forward. The Galaxies that have appeared have also led to the creation of many new playstyles and exciting moments. Many compositions can win and various counter-strategies have been developed.
We are looking to maintain that momentum by adding Xerath and even more Galaxies, which we hope you will enjoy. We are also ready to remove Galaxies that do not contribute to adding new and interesting strategies to the gameplay, so please continue to provide feedback and let us know your thoughts.”

As Riot shared above, we can see that the 2 new Galaxies are likely to have a significant impact on the gameplay of Teamfight Tactics. With the Treasure Trove Galaxy, the number of treasure chests will increase significantly, meaning that gold and items will also rise. These are two crucial elements in team composition, and it’s very likely that seemingly weak compositions will shine in this Galaxy with breakthrough items or simply more chances to roll for 3-stars.

The second Galaxy will have the potential to feature 2-star champions in the shared draft, as Riot shared. If there are no restrictions and 4 or 5-cost champions can also appear as 2-stars, this will truly revolutionize the way team compositions are built. It’s quite possible that a waiting playstyle will be implemented, then pivoting based on the expensive 2-star champions you pick up from the shared draft will come into play.
