Teamfight Tactics: The Most Effective ‘Transformation’ Formula for Your Team When Your Key Champion is ‘KS’ed

When you feel your luck isn't enough to build the desired team, switching to another composition is something Teamfight Tactics players should consider.

One of the most “headache” issues when playing Teamfight Tactics is encountering someone using the exact same team composition as you. If no one is willing to change their lineup, the result is often both players will “slowly die together.” To effectively utilize the strongest meta compositions without worrying about duplicating with other players, consider the following team formations:

Kayle Time Tempest and Xerath 6 Time Tempest Composition

It’s hard to believe that although Riot Games significantly nerfed Time Tempest, this composition remains one of the top choices in the meta. First, let’s discuss the power of the Kayle Time Tempest composition, where Kayle serves as the main carry with her ability to deal massive area magic damage. With the activation of Time Tempest, Blade Master, and Divine, Kayle can single-handedly defeat many teams. Additionally, Miss Fortune will act as the secondary carry, delivering even greater area magic damage than Kayle, draining the health of the entire enemy team in just 2.25 seconds.

If you find yourself having your Kayle and Miss Fortune “KS’ed” cleanly while playing the Kayle Time Tempest team, you can easily pivot to Xerath 6 Time Tempest:

The commonality between these two compositions is that they both feature Time Tempest champions, both include Kassadin (and activate the Cosmic trait), and they share very similar items for their carries (such as the Spell Weaver Cloak and Guinsoo’s Rageblade). However, the key difference is that the carry champion Xerath allows you to avoid competing for Kayle or Miss Fortune with the remaining players.

Regarding the strength of this composition, Xerath will be the primary source of damage, with the Time Tempest champions, except for Twisted Fate, capable of buying time for Xerath, thanks to champions like Shen, Ezreal, or Blitzcrank. As for the Cosmic duo, Kassadin will block some damage and drain the opponent’s health, assisting the entire team, while Lulu will hex anyone approaching her or Xerath. Lastly, Thresh – the champion who “transforms gold into power” – will pull down additional champions that create effects, such as Cho’Gath, Blitzcrank, or Wukong.

Supreme Technology, Gunner Brawler, and Void Brawler Composition

The combo of Lucian with Red Buff + Ezreal or Graves is quite familiar, making the Gunner Brawler composition a popular choice for maintaining health or transitioning directly into a team of 6 Supreme Technology. The main carries in this team over time will be Lucian, Irelia, and Ekko. If many players are opting for this team, you can switch to the following Gunner Brawler composition:

The commonality between these two teams is that they both have Lucian + 1 Gunner and Vi. In terms of items, Jinx will need at least 1 Guardian Angel, similar to Irelia, while Miss Fortune and Cho’Gath can use items from Ekko. If you still notice that this team is being used by others, you can transition to the third composition, Void Brawler, without worry:

This composition can utilize the entire defensive line of the Brawler team from the previous Gunner setup; however, you will need some spell items for Vel’Koz. In this composition, the Void champions will be the main carries with their true damage, so prioritize leveling them to 3 stars. Additional items can also be allocated to Kha’Zix if you manage to level him to 3 stars early on.

Frontline Marksman and Cosmic Pirate Composition

First up is the Cosmic Pirate composition, which has been very popular recently. This team focuses heavily on area damage from many champions like Wukong, Jayce, Kassadin, Ashe, and Rakan. These champions will attack enemies with nearly half their health, setting up Darius to finish them off with his double damage strikes, also giving him a 50% chance to pocket 1 gold for each kill. Additionally, with the activation of 4 Cosmic champions, the main carry Darius can heal to full health with each strike, allowing him to both sustain and deal damage – a rare dual capability for carries.

If you notice other players are using the same composition as you, you can simply pivot to the Frontline Marksman team:

The similarity between these two compositions lies in the frontline champions combined with the Marksman duo. Here, Jhin will take on the role of the primary damage dealer, while the trio of Wukong, Ashe, and Kassadin will focus on creating effects. Finally, Thresh, besides activating the Brawler and Time Tempest traits, can also pull additional allies down for Jhin to unleash damage.
