With the creativity of players, Teamfight Tactics can feature hundreds or even thousands of different interesting team compositions. Through the clever arrangement of champions and items, the meta of Teamfight Tactics boasts many powerful team formations favored by players. However, essentially, the main types of team compositions currently dominating the meta can be summarized in three forms as follows:
Gangplank and “the Rest”

In this type of composition, Gangplank plays a key role with items that provide absolute power such as Guardian Angel, Dragon’s Claw, or Rabadon’s Deathcap. Because Gangplank is currently an incredibly strong champion, many players tend to build powerful compositions centered around Gangplank, such as Space Pirate, Rebel Demolitionist, Pioneer Pirate, and Mysterious Pirate…
Specifically, the composition shown in the image is currently very popular because Gangplank can serve as the main damage dealer, primary tank, and controller all at once. With a Rabadon’s Deathcap, a 2-star Gangplank can wipe out all non-tank champions. With Dragon’s Claw and Guardian Angel, Gangplank will survive safely until he can use his skill. Next, he has the ability to stun almost the entire map with his ultimate activated by Demolitionist.
On the other side, “the Rest” consists of 6 Rebel champions that provide decent damage and tankiness when positioned together. Notably, the composition includes up to 3 5-cost champions, 2 of which can be upgraded, making it very strong in the late game.
Shooter + Tank Composition

In this composition, shooter champions will be used as the main source of damage for the team, positioned at the corners to maximize the damage from the Shooter trait. In this setup, Jhin will be the shooter dealing damage through auto attacks while Ashe will deal damage with her skills. The tank line will utilize extremely resilient champions to shield the shooters, often consisting of Mystics + Pioneers, Mystics + Guardians, Mystics + Brawlers, or Mystics + Shadow…
Specifically regarding the composition in the image, Xin Zhao will be the primary tank based on his trait activation along with items. Additionally, Xin Zhao and this tank line will have strong crowd control abilities such as knock-up, stun, and hex. Behind them, Karma will buff the attack speed and shield for Jhin to unleash damage, and the positions of these two champions can switch depending on whether the enemy team has a Blitzcrank or not.
Composition with Power Distributed Across the Team

Essentially, this composition will still have one main carry but the power of the champions in the team is also evenly distributed based on maximizing the activation of a trait such as 6 Super Tech, 6 Rebels, 6 Sorcerers, 6 Time Warp, or 6 Star Guardians…
More specifically about the team shown in the image, this composition has one main carry, Ekko, who can create effects and deal damage across the map. The Super Tech composition will distribute power by ensuring each champion has at least 1 item (increasing health by 800 and damage by 80). By this means, each Super Tech champion has the capacity to deal damage and tank to contribute significantly in fights.
