Jarvan has become the new “national champion” of Teamfight Tactics, capable of carrying the team in many unusual compositions within the meta. Explaining his power, Jarvan has recently seen increased health, reduced maximum energy cost for skills, boosted damage, and increased attack speed buff stats in 10.14. In terms of items, aside from his resilience stats, Blood Armor helps Jarvan gain a significant amount of shields from Guardian, Thornmail, and Storm Bow will deal continuous damage when opponents try to finish off Jarvan.
Here are some super unusual yet strong compositions that have emerged thanks to Jarvan:
Stellar Protector Composition with Sorcerers
With the new buffs in patch 10.14, Jarvan is utilized in the Stellar Protector (SP) composition paired with Sorcerers. Beyond his high individual power stats, having the 4 Sorcerer trait allows Jarvan to grant the entire team super high attack speed, similar to Karma’s version bringing the entire R+E combo into Teamfight Tactics. Additionally, Jarvan will also activate Guardian for Neeko and Dark Star for Xerath, benefiting this composition without any downsides.
In terms of damage, Syndra will remain the main carry with her powerful “ball shooting” abilities. Additionally, if Janna has a Shojin, she will become the second attack speed buffer after Jarvan, helping the entire SP composition utilize their quality damage from normal attacks while continually knocking up opponents.
4 Dark Star Composition with Jarvan as Carry
In this composition, Jarvan will be “stuffed” with items early on to carry the entire team extraordinarily. With all this tanky equipment combined with the activation of Guardian, Jarvan is nearly invincible in the early stages.
Behind him, Jhin has already seen strong buffs in patch 10.14, and in this composition, together with Jarvan and Karma continuously buffing attack speed, he can obliterate enemy teams with his massive damage output. Taking down Jhin is also quite challenging because, besides Karma’s shields, Jhin also receives buffs from 2 Mystics and continuous lifesteal from 2 Cosmos (which have recently been strengthened).
Jarvan Caitlyn Composition
Here’s another composition featuring Jarvan with 3 tank items, but this one is the most unusual as it is built from too many unrelated traits, formed entirely by individuals… who have nothing to do with each other.
Surprisingly, in the current meta, this “patchwork” composition is quite popular from Diamond rank upward. Speaking of its strength, Jarvan will serve as the main carry for durability and damage in the early game. The main damage dealers include Caitlyn along with Rakan (if he gets a Shojin early). Thanks to the attack speed buff from Jarvan, Rakan will continuously create chaos in the enemy team with his constant knock-ups, while additional damage sources apart from Caitlyn will come from Ashe, Twisted Fate, and Zoe.
Guardian Composition with Stellar Protectors and Dark Stars
This is yet another variation of the composition featuring Jarvan alongside Syndra. However, in this setup, the resilience of the champions in the front line will be maximized with the activation of 4 Guardians and 2 Mystics, along with early tank items. Regarding damage, similar to the SP compositions paired with Sorcerers, Syndra and Xerath remain the main carries when equipped with some strong items.
