Teamfight Tactics Season 6 is nearing its final phase before transitioning to Season 6.5. Currently, most players are trying to quickly climb the ranks or switch to casual modes to primarily test compositions. This is also the time when many “unique” compositions are invented by players. Although the main goal is experimentation, many of these prove to be effective. One notable example is the Challenger Samira – Idol composition.

Overview and Operation
Samira is a 3-cost champion who remains quite strong in TFT Season 6, easy to itemize but often underutilized as the main damage dealer because sometimes, she doesn’t get the chance to shine before being eliminated. However, in certain cases, Samira can absolutely “carry the team” if she has the right level and items—two crucial requirements for compositions centered around cheap champions.
In the early game, when Samira is not yet available, players can build a temporary composition with 2 Challengers – 2 Imperials, specifically Camille/Warwick/Quinn – Swain – Talon. However, since Samira is incredibly important, it’s essential to have her on the board early. Therefore, in the early game, players should not hoard too much gold; having a proper composition is the top priority. It’s best to level up to 5 early and bring Samira into play.

After acquiring this champion, players can transition to 3 Imperials – 3 Challengers. Focus on defensive items for Swain and Camille if resources allow. And damage items for Samira and Quinn. Because the playstyle revolves around cheap DPS champions, having Samira equipped early with the two crucial items, Infinity Edge and Giant Slayer, is necessary.

In the late game, players can pivot to 3 Imperials – 4 Challengers – 2 Idols, combined with traits that provide Idol bonuses or enhance the power of the Idols and the entire composition. The best late-game trait is the Glorious Charge core. The optimal late-game composition is: Swain – Camille – Samira – Quinn – Fiora – Taric – Talon – Seraphine. If you have an Imperial emblem, replace Talon with Orianna to activate Sorcerer.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Overall, this is a composition worth experimenting with. With Samira only costing 3 gold, it’s not too difficult to reach high levels. Additionally, this composition offers high attack speed. If combined with damage items, it becomes incredibly lethal.
However, the first obvious weakness is that this composition lacks a true tank. Using Sion with Giant Slayer will consume quite a few slots on the board. The next weakness is the heavy reliance on precise Tech Cores. Therefore, it’s advised that players should only deploy this composition if they receive the right Tech Cores (those for Idols) early on; otherwise, players should always be prepared with necessary backup plans.
