Teamfight Tactics Season 7: Overview of the Astral Trait’s Power

For players passionate about pushing champions to 3 stars, the Astral trait in Teamfight Tactics Season 7 is just perfect.

Since the inception of Teamfight Tactics, rerolling has always been an incredibly appealing playstyle favored by gamers. As the game evolved, Riot catered to players by designing traits that strongly interact with this reroll playstyle, making Teamfight Tactics even more exciting. In this Season 7 of Teamfight Tactics, the reroll tribe chosen by Riot is Astral.

Looking at this trait, we can immediately recognize the intention to support rerolling, as Astral has three 1-cost champions: Nidalee, Vladimir, and Skarner. Even from the very first rounds against minions, you can easily activate the 3 Astral threshold with this factor. Furthermore, the effect of increasing the chance of Astral champions with every 5 rerolls makes it easier for players to upgrade their lineup to 3 stars.

In terms of gameplay, the main strength of the Astral trait will come from Nami in the early to mid-game, while Aurelion Sol will take on the role of the late-game powerhouse. This is because Nami is a 2-cost champion, making it easy to reach 3 stars with the Astral effect. Moreover, when activating the 3 Sorcerer effect, Nami provides excellent healing and damage capabilities, making your lineup incredibly resilient and hard to take down.

Meanwhile, Aurelion Sol in the late game has the ability to deal area damage and significantly reduce opponents’ physical damage. Combined with crowd control from Varus and defense reduction from Illaoi, Aurelion Sol can eliminate opponents relatively easily in the later stages of the match. Additionally, with Astral champions having easily activated traits, you won’t face difficulties in building your lineup and pivoting during each match.

As for weaknesses, like many other reroll-supporting traits, Astral relies heavily on luck. If you don’t get Aurelion Sol early on, this lineup will significantly lack damage due to the absence of a 4-cost carry. Furthermore, you will also need the Sorcerer emblem for Aurelion Sol to truly shine.

In summary, in Season 7, Astral will represent the reroll playstyle with champions that are low-cost and easy to level up early. Of course, reaching maximum strength with this lineup is extremely difficult as you need to balance between rerolling and leveling up to obtain Aurelion Sol. Therefore, Astral will only be suitable for matches where players can roll many champions of this trait early on.
