As we know, patch 12.10 was a comprehensive upgrade to the tankiness of all champions in League of Legends. As a result, Assassins have faced considerable disadvantages as they struggle to deal damage and eliminate targets quickly, given that every champion has become more resilient. Thus, a few weeks ago, Riot announced a comprehensive buff for the mythic items of the Assassin class to help them become viable again.

However, on June 7 (just one day before patch 12.11 was implemented on Riot’s servers), the aforementioned buff was removed. This information was announced by the lead gameplay designer of LoL – Riot Phroxzon on Twitter, leaving many players astonished. The reason provided by the Riot Games representative was that they felt the buff was unnecessary. Moreover, the win rate of Assassins remained within an acceptable range, so rushing to buff them was deemed inappropriate.

Essentially, complaints from players regarding the Assassin class are not a new occurrence. From the moment a series of champions like Zed, Talon, Rengar… started to abuse Fighter items (Bloodthirster) and the Conqueror rune, Riot faced a lot of backlash. Riot made a significant mistake by granting these Fighter items excellent damage and defense capabilities, inadvertently making Assassins incredibly difficult to take down.
Remember that this class also includes a character in a similar situation, Katarina, who became overly resilient with the build of Divine Sunderer. Riot Games’ designers have promised players that they will find a way to adjust Katarina so that this playstyle is no longer overly powerful.

Therefore, we can trust that Riot Games will release a significant update in patch 12.12 in about two weeks, primarily targeting Assassins. It is highly likely that Riot will make Fighter items unsuitable for Assassins, prompting players to think more carefully each time they decide to engage and deal damage.
