Recently, the 2021 World Championship skins for EDward Gaming were unveiled to the global League of Legends community. With a gothic design and a cool blue-black color scheme, the EDG skins collection is considered quite beautiful and is viewed as one of the best World Championship skins ever released. In fact, many believed that the EDG skins would be among the best-selling World Championship skins.

However, recently, Doinb asserted that the sales of EDG skins turned out to be lower than expected. Specifically, during a stream, the mid-laner of LNG Esports received a question from a viewer about the sales of EDG skins. Known for often gathering insider information from the LPL, Doinb naturally could have insights regarding the sales of these skins. Explaining the reason for the disappointing sales figures for EDG skins, Doinb suggested it was because the champions with EDG skins are too difficult to play.
However, Doinb also emphasized that saying the sales of EDG skins are poor is only in comparison to people’s expectations and only in the Chinese market. Compared to other regions, EDG skins are still selling much better. Additionally, Doinb mentioned that in a recent update, Aphelios has received a significant buff. The former 2019 World Champion believes this is a way for Riot to subtly help EDG skins achieve better sales.

In reality, apart from Graves and Yuumi, champions like Aphelios, Zoe, and Viego are not easy for everyone to play. Especially Zoe, as even professional players do not always use this champion effectively. As for Aphelios, there are too many weapon forms, and not everyone can calmly consider which weapon form is appropriate for the situation in a match.

Regardless, the EDG skins collection was only recently launched. And it is very likely that in the future, these skins will see increased sales, especially if EDG regains their form and rises to the top in the upcoming Summer 2022 LPL.
